About Pi Labs
Pi Labs is an early-stage venture capital firm based in London. It backs founders building a digital and sustainable built world, and it has been making investments since 2015.
How programmes work
Pi Labs has two routes. The Growth Programme is a 10-week accelerator for pre-seed companies. It pairs participants with an investment from the firm, direct introductions to prospective customers and potential investors, and an annual Demo Day. The programme is built to generate sustainable growth for early-stage companies transforming the built world. The 2026 round is closed. A hub page on the site still says "Register for interest for 2026", so the site's messages about the round do not agree.
Direct Investment is a separate route. The firm invests directly in seed to Series A companies looking to fuel their journey, and applications are open year-round. Once a founder applies, the firm says its team will review the application carefully.
Who can apply
The Growth Programme is for pre-seed companies that are early-stage and transforming the built world, with potential to scale globally. Direct Investment is for seed to Series A companies. Across the firm, the about page says it invests from pre-seed to Series A, as well as making follow-on investments.
The site describes its geographic focus in different ways. Its homepage says European and Northern American start-ups, its about page says it backs founders globally, and another page says it invests in European startups going global. The Growth Programme page also says the firm is actively investing further afield in North America, Asia and Israel. India is not named anywhere on the site. Founders based in India should confirm eligibility with the firm before applying.
Scale and track record
These are the firm's own figures, and most of them are undated.
The firm states that it has made about 100 investments since 2015 across 15 countries, over three funds, and has delivered 19 exits. It closed its third fund in 2022. The homepage counter says 90+ companies have been invested in, while another page says the firm has backed more than 70 companies. This page does not choose between those counts.
The firm's ecosystem page lists over 400 people, including founders, mentors, co-investors, limited partners and venture partners. It names more than 100 founders, more than 100 mentors, over 160 co-investors, over 60 limited partners and seven venture partners.
On the Growth Programme, the page states that 56 companies have gone through the programme to date, with no date given. It says 90% of teams have raised capital since the start of the 2022 programme. About a quarter of companies that apply are interviewed.
Who runs it
Pi Labs was founded in 2014 by Faisal Butt, Founder and Managing Partner. The legal entity is Pi Labs Limited. Pi Labs Manager Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, is an appointed representative of Midmar Capital LLP. Midmar Capital LLP is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for UK investment advisory or arranging activities.
The firm is a signatory of the Investing in Women Code, which its site describes as a UK government-backed initiative.
Careers and contact
The firm has a careers page and says it always wants to hear from people interested in its world, even where no role is listed. Its general inbox is info@pilabs.vc.
Location
The site gives the registered office as 33 Broadwick Street, London, W1F 0DQ. The firm is based in London. It says Europe feels like home, and that it is now actively investing further afield in North America, Asia and Israel, particularly in companies with the potential to scale globally.
