Before you send

• Check the fit: its stated areas are health, technology, automobiles and infrastructure, and its portfolio is mostly consumer brands and enterprise software.
• Show the market: it says it backs businesses with a large market opportunity and a differentiated business model.
• Show the founder: it says it looks for passionate founders.
• Name the group link: it highlights synergies with RPG group companies, so say where your product could work with CEAT, KEC, Zensar, RPG Lifesciences, Harrisons Malayalam or Raychem RPG.
• Keep the PDF short: it is the only attachment the form takes.

RPG Ventures is the new ventures arm of the RPG Group, an Indian industrial conglomerate whose listed businesses include CEAT in tyres, KEC in EPC, Zensar in IT services, RPG Lifesciences in pharma, Harrisons Malayalam in plantations and Raychem RPG in power products. The venture arm is based at RPG House in Worli, Mumbai, and describes itself as a long term capital source with a deep network of group relationships and the infrastructure to enable a quick launch.

Its site gives two main purposes. The first is to incubate and build new businesses for the group in futuristic areas of interest. The second is to work with group companies to identify and invest in synergistic early stage businesses. The home page title names health, technology, automobiles and infrastructure as its areas, and the portfolio spans sports nutrition retail, carbon accounting software, ayurvedic women's health products, home gardening, bedding, cybersecurity for enterprises and for vehicles, online tyre retail, fleet management software and online kids apparel. It also lists two exited companies, one of which, the bot mitigation firm Shieldsquare, was acquired by Radware.

What it says it looks for is businesses that address a large market opportunity through a differentiated business model and are led by passionate founders. What it says it offers is strategic and long term access to capital, an active partner in building out the business for faster scale up, and the chance to exploit synergies with RPG group companies to speed up go to market. Partnering with it gives firms access to the strength of the RPG network.

RPG Ventures does not publish a fund size, cheque range, stage grid or application cycle, and its pages do not describe a programme or cohort. The one stated route in is the contact page, which carries a form headed 'Submit your business proposal' with fields for name, company name, email, phone and a message, plus an upload of a PDF proposal up to 10MB.
