Start with Associate Membership

• TiE Vizag has no application round. You join as an Associate Member through the Join Us page and then use the programmes and events open to members.
• Charter Membership is by invitation only, so it is not a route for a founder looking for support.
• Membership lasts one year and is renewed every year.

• Student founders at a college or university: TiE U.
• High school students: TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE).
• Young founders who want long-term structured mentoring: TiE Nurture, which runs for six to nine months.
• Women entrepreneurs: TiE Women.
• Associate Members who want to learn from experts: TiE Masterclass.

Before you apply or ask

• Ask about intake. The programme pages do not show dates, so write to the office to find out when the next batch of TiE Nurture, TiE Women or TiE U starts.
• Do not expect funding. TiE Global Angels is a platform for Charter Members worldwide to invest. It is an introduction route, not a grant.
• Use the events. Regular chapter events are free for Associate Members, which makes them the cheapest way to meet mentors and investors.

TiE Vizag is the Visakhapatnam chapter of TiE, the Indus Entrepreneurs network, a nonprofit for entrepreneurs at all stages and in all industries. It began as the TiE Amaravati chapter and is now run as the TiE Vizag Council. The office is on the AMTZ campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The chapter says it aims to engage entrepreneurs from across the state, especially Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada/Amaravati and Tirupati.

What TiE Vizag is, and is not

TiE Vizag is a membership community. It is not a funded cohort programme and it does not run a fixed application round with a deadline. Its own pages say its work rests on five pillars: mentoring, networking, education, funding and incubation. Founders take part by joining as a member, then using the programmes and events open to their membership type. On incubation, the chapter's own site describes the pillar only through the wider TiE network, so do not expect a desk or lab space from this chapter.

Membership types

There are two kinds of member. Associate Members are entrepreneurs, young professionals and people who want to start a business, learn about the market or network. Students are also named as a group in the chapter's FAQ. Charter Members are accomplished entrepreneurs, corporate intrapreneurs and thought leaders who mentor and invest in younger founders. Charter Membership is by invitation only. Every membership is valid for one year from the date of joining and is renewed each year.

For a founder, Associate Membership is the way in. The chapter says all its regular events are free for Associate Members, while flagship summits and events hosted by other TiE chapters may have separate charges. Associate Members can also attend student programmes, bootcamp-style sessions, practising-entrepreneur talks, connect with mentors, look for internships at member companies and get discounted entry to flagship events such as TiECon.

Programmes

The chapter lists its programmes under three headings: education, associate members and charter members.

TiE Nurture is a long-term mentoring programme for young founders. It was pioneered by TiE Pune and runs for six to nine months, or 36 weeks. It combines Guru Sessions with industry experts, workshops and a Finishing School segment. The chapter's pages differ on whether it has already adopted the programme or plans to, so confirm the current intake before you plan around it.

TiE Women supports women entrepreneurs across sectors, whatever the size of the business. It offers curated mentorship, long-term guidance and chances to collaborate. TiE U is for start-ups run by college and university students, and works through events that bring together start-ups, TiE members, outside mentors and coaches. TiE Young Entrepreneurs, or TYE, is for high school students and teaches the basics of starting and running a business. TiE Masterclass is a learning series only for Associate Members. The Charter Retreat is for Charter Members and their families.

Funding

TiE Global Angels is a platform where TiE Charter Members worldwide invest in start-ups. The chapter's site presents it as a global programme, not a fund run by the Vizag chapter. Treat it as an investor introduction route that depends on the members who choose to look at your start-up, not as a grant or a guaranteed investment.

TiECon Vizag 2026

The site's menu carries a TiECon VIZAG 2026 page and highlights it on the home page. The events listing was empty when we checked, so no date or place could be confirmed. Follow the chapter's LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X pages, or write to the office, for the date.

Who runs it

The chapter's page names Kalyan Muppaneni as President of the chapter. The site also has pages for past presidents, the board of directors and the secretariat. It is part of TiE Global, the umbrella body for all TiE chapters, which the chapter's history page says was formed in 2002.
