Track record
What VELAGAPUDI RAMAKRISHNA SIDDHARTHA ENGINEERING COLLEGE reports about its portfolio.
These are the institution's own published tables, not audited totals. The incubated list and the seed-support list are different sets of companies, and the statistics tiles on the university's overview page do not render their numbers at all, so no overall figure is taken from them.
All figures self-reported — siddhartha.edu.in, as of 2024.

What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
V R Siddhartha TBI Foundation is the Section 8 company that runs incubation on the Siddhartha campus at Kanuru, Vijayawada. It was set up in February 2022 by the institution's sponsoring body, and its stated purpose is to build agri, healthcare and allied ventures in and around Vijayawada and create jobs locally. There is no advertised intake window and no application form, so this is a standing offer you approach directly rather than a cohort you apply to.
What you get
- A seat on a 10,000 sq ft incubation floor built for 25 teams at a time, air conditioned, with 24x7 access and UPS-backed power
- Desktop workstations, gigabit networking, meeting and conference rooms, AC co-working space and shared office equipment
- An in-house library, an IPR cell and a market research cell
- Incubation training and entrepreneurship workshops
- Mentoring and introductions to partners, suppliers and possible sources of capital
- Free advisory from legal, financial, technical and IPR experts
- Pre-incubation help to firm up a business plan and protect intellectual property
- Support with business plan writing, IPR and technology transfer
Who can apply
- Students, staff, faculty and alumni of the institution — this is who almost every incubated venture on record has been
- Outside founders, on the basis of the institute's published innovation and startup policy, which says the startup facility extends to outsiders and that outside applicants are taken forward through the Innovation Council
- Founders already attached to another incubator, academic body or company, through the virtual and co-incubation route the same policy describes
- The institute's own seed support has so far gone only to its students
How to apply: No form or intake is published. Write to the institution at registrar@siddhartha.edu.in, or to info@vrsiddhartha.ac.in as listed by the Innovation Council, describe your venture and ask to be referred to the TBI Foundation. Ask up front whether outside teams are being taken, and on what commercial terms — the institute's policy allows either a minority equity stake in return for space and services, or a rental and fee basis with no seed support.
Incubation tracks
VELAGAPUDI RAMAKRISHNA SIDDHARTHA ENGINEERING COLLEGE runs a virtual track, so you can join without relocating.
These four stages are how the institution describes its incubation services in its policy reporting. None of them has its own page, terms or intake, so treat them as the shape of what is offered rather than as programmes you can sign up to.

Recognitions & empanelments
Official approvals this incubator holds.
The institution states one incubation-related government approval, and it is the MSME host-institute status below. It makes no Atal Incubation Centre, DST NIDHI or Startup India incubator claim. Its Atal reference is to the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements, which is a ranking it entered in 2019 and 2020, not an incubation centre.
Host Institute, MSME Innovative Scheme (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises)
The institute states on its own Innovation Council page that it is approved as a Host Institute for the incubation component of the MSME Innovative Scheme, and it appears on the Ministry's published Host Institute list (entry 455, Krishna, Andhra Pradesh), checked 24 September 2026. This is the status that lets an innovator name the institute as their host institute when applying on the ministry's portal. The list carries no approval date, period or status column, so whether the recognition is current cannot be told from it, and being listed is a capacity registration rather than evidence that an approved idea has ever been hosted.
How to apply to VELAGAPUDI RAMAKRISHNA SIDDHARTHA ENGINEERING COLLEGE
Start by working out whether you are inside or outside the institution
The incubation centre's published record is overwhelmingly a record of student, faculty and alumni ventures. If you study or work at Siddhartha, the Innovation Council's start-up activity coordinator and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell are the doors, and the institute's seed support has so far gone only to students.
If you are an outside founder, the only written basis for your application is the institute's own innovation and startup policy, which says the facility extends to outsiders and that outside applicants are nurtured through the Innovation Council. Say so plainly in your first email. Nothing else on the site invites you in.
Expect to start the conversation yourself
- There is no form, no portal and no advertised intake. Write to the institution and ask to be referred to V R Siddhartha TBI Foundation.
- Ask whether they are taking outside incubatees at all before you invest time in a proposal.
- Confirm what is currently available, since the services list on the incubation page is broad and undated.
Make the fit obvious
- The TBI's stated focus is smart agriculture, healthcare and allied sectors around Vijayawada, and rural impact and job creation are named in its objectives. Lead with that if it is true of you.
- Aqua and agri automation are the strongest clusters in its existing portfolio, so a team in that space has ready comparators and mentors on site.
- The floor is sized for a small number of resident teams, so a proposal that needs a desk and a place to meet customers reads better than one that needs specialised equipment.
Settle the commercial terms early
- The institute's policy provides for taking a minority equity stake in return for space, services and use of its brand or intellectual property.
- It also allows a rental or fee-based arrangement where you take support without seed funding. Ask which one is on the table before you commit.
- If any of your technology was developed with the institute, ask how licensing would work.
Check a few things yourself
- Ask whether the MSME Innovative Scheme host-institute approval is still current, and whether they have hosted an approved idea under it.
- Ask when the last outside founder was incubated, and what happened.
About VELAGAPUDI RAMAKRISHNA SIDDHARTHA ENGINEERING COLLEGE
Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) is an engineering institution at Kanuru, Vijayawada, in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district. Founded in 1977, it was declared a deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act with effect from 11 March 2024 and now operates as Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, with schools of engineering, management, science, law, and arts and commerce. Both the college and the university are sponsored by Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education (SAGTE), Vijayawada.
The startup work sits in a separate legal entity. V R Siddhartha TBI Foundation is a not-for-profit Section 8 company, registered in February 2022 as a special purpose vehicle sponsored by SAGTE, and it is the body a founder would actually deal with. Its two directors are the college principal and SAGTE's secretary, and it has a general manager of its own. The campus also runs an Institution's Innovation Council under the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, and an Entrepreneurship Development Cell that has been running since 2005.
What they support
The TBI Foundation states its focus as smart agriculture, healthcare and allied sectors in rural areas in and around Vijayawada. Its stated objectives are to nurture new ventures based on innovative technology in the agri and healthcare space, to provide infrastructure and seed support for feasible ideas, to build a mentor network, and to help move technology developed on campus towards commercial products. The startups it has actually incubated range wider than that: aerospace, aquaculture automation, waste recycling, electric vehicles, edtech, construction design, supply chain and software services all appear in its list.
Who may apply is the weakest-documented part of this provider, and it is worth being precise about. Almost everything on the incubation page points at people already inside the institution. Every recipient of the institute's own start-up support seed fund is a current student, identified by roll number, and most incubated companies are attributed to a college department. The institute's own 2020 innovation and startup policy is the only document that goes further: it says the institute extends the startup facility to its alumni and to outsiders, and that ventures from applicants outside the institution are nurtured through the Innovation Council. The same policy also describes virtual and co-incubation for founders already attached to another incubator, academic body or company. So an outside founder is not excluded on paper — but there is no evidence on the site of an open, outsider-facing intake, and you should expect to have to make the case yourself.
Facilities and support
The incubation floor is 10,000 sq ft of glass-partitioned office space sized to hold 25 incubatees at a time, air conditioned, with 24x7 access, UPS-backed power and Wi-Fi. It comes with a hundred all-in-one desktop workstations, structured gigabit cabling on managed switches, meeting and conference rooms, AC co-working space, and shared office equipment. The centre also lists an in-house library, an IPR cell and a market research cell.
The services the TBI lists are incubation training and entrepreneurship workshops, mentoring and networking to reach partners, suppliers and sources of capital, free advisory from legal, financial, technical and IPR experts, pre-incubation support to firm up a business plan and protect intellectual property, help with business plan writing, IPR and technology transfer, and links into the wider startup community. Boot camps, idea-generation workshops, accelerator programmes and innovation contests are listed too, though none of them is given a name, a page or a date anywhere on the site.
Separately, the campus hosts an AICTE IDEA Lab, established with support from the All India Council for Technical Education, which gives teams a place to build and test prototypes.
Track record
The incubation centre publishes a list of twenty incubated startups, dated between 2017 and 2024, each with its company or LLP registration number. Named ventures include NPHSAT Systems, described as the first aerospace startup in Andhra Pradesh and working on small satellites; Miletronics and Athritek Innovations, both building automation for aqua farmers; Verlito Waste Management in metal recycling; Chitti Motors, making low-cost e-bikes; and Madblocks Technologies in IoT and blockchain product development. A separate table records eight start-up support seed grants across 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24, all to students.
On the recognition side, the institute states it is approved as a Host Institute for the incubation component of the MSME Innovative Scheme. Its Innovation Council held a 3.5-star rating from the Ministry of Education for 2023-24, having held 4.5 stars in 2019-20, and the institute is placed in the 51-100 band of the NIRF 2023 Innovation category. It also took part in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements in 2019 and 2020, where it was placed in Band A among private and self-financed institutes. That is a ranking, not an incubation centre, and the institute does not claim any Atal, DST or Startup India incubator recognition.
How to apply
There is no application form, intake window or apply link for the incubator anywhere on the institution's site. The realistic route is to write to the institution, explain your venture and ask to be put in touch with the TBI Foundation or the Innovation Council's start-up activity coordinator. Under the institute's published policy, a startup that takes space and services gives up a minority equity stake, and can instead choose a rental or fee basis and skip the seed support. Careers at the institution are advertised on its own careers page, and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell publishes year-wise lists of the events it has run.
