Vignan TBI is the technology business incubator of Vignan's Foundation for Science Technology and Research (VFSTR), a deemed university in Vadlamudi, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. It runs as VFSTR-NIDHI-i-TBI, an incubator supported by a three-year NIDHI grant from DST.

How the incubator works

The incubator says it offers mentoring and technical support round the clock, seed grants to help incubatees start, and investor meetings. Its pages list support for fund raising, market connections, investor connections, mentorship, entrepreneurship training, internships and recruitment, and legal, compliance and IP work.

Who can apply

The site does not publish eligibility rules. Its incubation form asks the applicant to choose startup or individual. The funding call on the events page is open to post-MVP and commercial stage startups.

Facilities

The campus offers coworking space, shared office infrastructure and a prototyping laboratory. The site also lists testing infrastructure, conference rooms with projectors, and a library.

Scale

The home page counters report 48 startups incubated, 93 in pre-incubation, 15 products developed, 100 jobs created, 40 mentors and 25 stakeholder partners. The site also says VFSTR has MoUs with 150 industries that can mentor incubatees. The counters are self-reported and undated, and the site does not say over what period they were counted.

Focus areas

The mission names agritech, biotechnology, renewable energy and waste management. The focus area list adds energy, agriculture and allied fields, and solid-liquid waste management.

Locations

The incubator's office is the VFSTR TBI Council, on the second floor of Nagarjuna Bhavan, on the university campus in Vadlamudi, Guntur.
