W Health Ventures is a healthcare company creation fund. It describes itself as India's first healthcare company creation fund and works in India and the US-India corridor. Its fund manager, W Health Ventures Investment Advisors LLP, lists a Delhi address in Okhla, and the site also names Boston, Mumbai and Bangalore as locations. Its fund, W Health Ventures Fund II, is a SEBI-registered Category II AIF.

How it works

W Health Ventures does not run a typical startup intake. Its in-house team of physicians, operators and technologists identifies structural gaps in healthcare delivery and spends 12 to 18 months pressure-testing an opportunity. It then recruits a founding team to lead the company, writes the first cheque, and builds alongside them. The site lays this out in four stages: pre-idea, validation, build and category leader. Validation means testing each solution with real, paying patients and customers.
