Protect your brand in 130+ countries with a single Madrid Protocol filing
File one international trademark application through the Indian Trademark Office designating 130+ Madrid member countries — including USA, EU, UK, UAE, Singapore, and Australia. Managed through WIPO with our global associate network.
India acceded to the Madrid Protocol in 2013. Indian trademark holders can file a single international application through the Indian Trademark Office (as Office of Origin), designating member countries. Each designated country examines the application under its own laws and may raise objections.
Indian startups and brands exporting to USA, EU, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Canada, or any of the 130+ Madrid member countries. Also for businesses that have received interest from foreign distributors, investors, or franchisees.

Yes. Subsequent designations (adding more countries after the initial filing) can be made at any time while the international registration is in force, by paying the applicable fees.
During the first 5 years, the international registration is dependent on the base mark. If the Indian registration is cancelled, the international registration falls. After 5 years, it becomes independent.
