About this grant
The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), with support from Ashraya Hastha Trust (AHT), is launching the 1st Call for ‘Validation of Field-Ready Climate Solutions’. This initiative aims to support Indian innovators with deployment-ready solutions at the intersection of climate change and biology across health, agriculture, and environment.
Through the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Sustainability & Climate Action, C-CAMP seeks to support promising Indian innovations in their transition from technology development to real-world validation, market adoption, and scale. The call focuses on identifying climate solutions that require on-field validation and supporting them through collaborative pilot projects to generate real-world evidence of impact, strengthen the case for adoption, and facilitate subsequent deployment and scale-up. The program focuses on three major themes:
- Theme 1: Climate & Environment - Nurturing sustainable bio-solutions with emphasis on Bioenergy, Green Environment, and Reducing the Carbon Burden. Examples include Biofuels, Bioplastics, waste management solutions, Industrial Green-tech, and Synthetic biology-based solutions.
- Theme 2: Climate & Health - Enabling Climate-resilient Healthcare by fostering technologies for uncoupling Societal Health from Climate Change. Examples include solutions for climate-linked infectious diseases, improving air & water quality, and pandemic preparedness.
- Theme 3: Climate & Agriculture - Supporting technologies promoting Food Security & boosting Sustainable Agriculture under changing climate conditions. Examples include Climate-resistant crop varieties, solutions for soil health, Precision agriculture, Nature-based Solutions (biofertilizers, biopesticides), and carbon offsetting Agri solutions.

Selection Process
The selection process is multi-stage, beginning with a primary screening of online applications and slide-decks. Shortlisted candidates proceed to an initial virtual pitch round, where an Expert Committee evaluates alignment with the program mandate. Finalists then present an in-person pitch to determine selection, which is then subject to a comprehensive due diligence process before final approval for support under the CoE program.
