The Finance Case Competition 2025, organized by Simandhar Education, invites finance students and aspiring professionals across India to engage with a real-world corporate finance challenge. Participants will evaluate 'Project Sankalp,' a significant ₹570 million AI-driven expansion, to determine its potential for creating shareholder value for Simandhar Education. This competition provides a practical platform to apply advanced financial concepts such as beta estimation, WACC computation, DCF valuation, and sensitivity analysis, culminating in a board-ready recommendation.
Who Should Apply
This competition is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate and postgraduate students across India, as well as working professionals. Participants can be part of only one team. Inter-college and inter-specialization teams are encouraged.
Competition Format & Process
The competition unfolds in three distinct rounds:
- Round 1 - Finance & Aptitude Quiz: An online MCQ quiz hosted on Unstop, comprising 40 questions to be completed in 45 minutes. Topics include CAPM, beta, WACC, DCF, cost of capital, financial ratios, and quantitative aptitude. Negative marking applies. This round requires individual participation.
- Round 2 - Case Study Submission: Qualifying participants from Round 1 will receive the comprehensive Simandhar Education case pack. Deliverables include an Excel financial model and a PowerPoint presentation (maximum 15 slides). The submission window is 7-10 days after Round 1 results. Teams of 1 to 3 members can be formed after Round 1.
- Final Round - Live Presentation: The top 5-7 teams will present their solutions live to a distinguished panel of senior finance experts. Each team will have 10 minutes for their presentation, followed by an 8-10 minute Q&A session. This round will be conducted online via Google Meet/Zoom.
Prizes
The competition offers attractive cash prizes and professional development opportunities:
- 1st Position: ₹20,000 cash + Finance Certification Counselling
- 2nd Position: ₹10,000 cash + Finance Certification Counselling
- 3rd Position: ₹5,000 cash + Finance Certification Counselling
Eligibility
Open to all currently enrolled undergraduate and postgraduate students across India, and working professionals. Teams of 1-3 members are permitted from Round 2 onwards.
How to Apply
