Scheme to Provide Grant In Aid for Prototyping Technology-Based Innovative Products under Virtual Innovation Register (VIR) – Up to ₹20,000

The Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC) provides Grant In Aid for prototyping technology-based innovative projects/ideas registered under the Virtual Innovation Register (VIR). The scheme aims to support Students, Startups, Innovators, Research Faculty and Entrepreneurs who require financial support in converting ideas into working, marketable prototypes/products. This is NOT a competition — it is a direct grant disbursed by an Advisory Committee upon approval of the prototype project.

OBJECTIVES

Support and finance Students, Startups, Innovators, Research Faculty and Entrepreneurs with technology-based innovative ideas they wish to translate into working and marketable prototypes/products.
Encourage innovators to achieve new heights in sustainable technologies by providing grant in aid for prototyping.
Create a vibrant innovation ecosystem by supporting faster implementation of innovative ideas.

The Selection Committee of GSInC holds periodic meetings to approve projects. This committee comprises the Chairman and 2 Members appointed by the Chairman of GSInC. Decisions are communicated to applicants via email within 7 working days of the meeting. All decisions regarding selection are final and binding. Copies of bills/invoices for prototype materials must be maintained and submitted to GSInC.

This scheme provides a Grant of up to INR 20,000 (INR 20 thousand) per project, disbursed as a single lump-sum installment. The grant is approved by the duly constituted Advisory Committee of GSInC. It can be utilized for: (1) Prototyping Material — tools and materials required for building the prototype; (2) Academic Projects — students applying through Educational Institutions may use the grant for academic projects. The grant must be utilized within the same financial year (before March of the subsequent year).
