Capture the Flag - Operation: Zero Trace is a live cyber-operations mission hosted by NMIMS Chandigarh as part of Anviksha - The Epoch 2026. This is not a conventional quiz; it is a hands-on, practical cybersecurity competition where teams of 3–5 college students operate as Cyber Response Units to recover hidden flags across multiple cybersecurity sectors.

Who it's for:

Open to college students.
Teams of 3–5 members.
Ideal for students interested in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, cryptography, and network defense.

Format & Sectors:

The competition spans five sectors: Crypto Vault, Web Gateway, Linux Core, Hidden Signal, and Database Breach.
Challenges cover cryptography, web security, Linux/command-line tasks, steganography, and SQL.
Teams race against the clock to recover flags before the network locks down.
A live scoreboard tracks team progress, including "First Blood" moments for the fastest solves.

Event Details:

Date & Time: 12th September 2026, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM (IST)
Venue: Computer Lab (F-201), Chandigarh (Mohali Region), Punjab
Registration: ₹150 per team; capacity of 60 participants.
Registration Deadline: 11th September 2026 (registrations close 2–3 days before the fest).

Prizes & Recognition:

Total cash prize pool of ₹6,000.
Certificates for winners.
Participation certificates for all attendees.

Rules:

Each team must consist of 3–5 members.
Teams must complete assigned cybersecurity challenges and recover required flags.
Participants must work within the designated challenge environment.
Evaluation is based on successful flag recovery and overall performance.
The live scoreboard is used to track progress.
Participants must follow instructions from event organisers.
Misconduct or violation of instructions may lead to disqualification.

About the Organiser: NMIMS Chandigarh is a campus of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, a well-known Indian educational institution. The event is part of Anviksha - The Epoch 2026, a technical and cultural fest that brings together students for competitions, workshops, and networking. This CTF is designed to give students practical exposure to cybersecurity in a competitive, team-based environment, helping them build skills relevant to the growing cybersecurity industry in India.
