Women Self Employment Scheme

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to women in Himachal Pradesh to enable them to start small businesses or trades, thereby promoting self-reliance and improving their economic status. It encourages entrepreneurial activities across various small-scale sectors.

To be eligible, an applicant must be a woman who intends to establish her own business or trade. Her annual family income should not exceed ₹35,000/-. Physically handicapped individuals are also encouraged to apply under this scheme.

The scheme supports a wide range of income-generating activities. Examples include establishing tea stalls, Karyana shops, Pan Bidi/Cigarette shops, stationery shops, tailor shops, wool/khadi/embroidery shops, poultry farms, Maniyari shops, and any other income generation activities identified at the local level.

Each eligible woman can receive financial assistance of ₹5,000. This amount is provided to help them in the initial stages of setting up their small business or trade activity.

Interested applicants must visit the District Welfare Officer during office hours to obtain the prescribed application form (Annexure-I). After filling in all mandatory fields and attaching self-attested copies of required documents, the complete application should be submitted back to the District Welfare Officer. It is advisable to request a submission receipt for record-keeping.
