BBB incubates biotech ventures in two forms. Residential incubation puts you in the building, on a shared wet bench, in an independent lab shell, or at an office desk or cubicle. Virtual incubation gives the same support services without the space, aimed at product or service innovation strategy, validation and go-to-market execution.

How selection works: the site does not describe a selection panel or criteria. The form asks for a one-page technology or research proposal, team profiles, planned products and services, directors and management, and any funding held now or in the past.
How to apply: fill the online incubatee application form, saying whether you want residential or virtual incubation, for how many months, and which space you need. Questions go to bbb@rcb.res.in.
Incubation is charged. BBB publishes a rate sheet for the shared bench, independent shells, office desks, the culture facility and the instrumentation facility, with a discount for cluster members, so check the current sheet before applying.

The scheme supports startups through proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialization, with grant support released against milestones such as building a prototype, testing a product or getting it ready for launch, and later investment through convertible debentures, debt or debt-linked instruments.

BBB publishes five strategic programmes. IDEA is an awareness format for young students and researchers, aimed at building knowledge of startup culture. EMPOWER is an entrepreneurship development programme for innovators, researchers and young minds. FINE is an ideathon-style innovation challenge for researchers, students and budding entrepreneurs. LEARN is a workshop series on the latest laboratory equipment and how it is used in research. CREATE is the corporate social responsibility channel, through which CSR innovation funds support young startups.
These are published as a single table giving each one a focus and an intended impact. None has its own page, dates or application form, so treat them as formats the centre runs from time to time. Related activity does appear in the events list, such as an ideathon held on National Startup Day. Write to bbb@rcb.res.in to ask when the next round of any of them runs.

Labs & facilities
Equipment and space on campus.
Equipment is also open to outside users. BBB publishes hourly charges at one rate for startups, students and academia and a higher rate for industry, with consumables brought by the user.
Shared and independent wet labs
One shared lab seating 18, each seat a wet bench plus a working desk; 20 independent labs of about 180 and 220 sq ft, one of about 800 sq ft and one of about 1,100 sq ft.
Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF)
Two common instrumentation labs. The published list runs to 46 items, including real-time qPCR, thermal cyclers, multi-mode plate readers, ultra-low temperature freezers, gel documentation with multiplexing, western blotting, high-speed centrifuges, a lyophilizer and an ultrapure water system.
Mammalian and bacterial culture facility (BSL2)
CO2 incubators, cell culture hoods, microscope, liquid nitrogen cans and water bath. Charged per startup per month.
Office cubicles and desks
Thirteen office cubicles of about 125 sq ft, plus single office desks in the dry lab.
Meeting rooms, seminar hall and video conference room

The BioNEST status is stated by BBB and independently listed in BIRAC's own register. The SISFS and MSME claims rest on the centre's own pages: both public registers were unreachable when we checked.
BIRAC BioNEST bio-incubator
BBB states it is funded by BIRAC under the BioNEST scheme and operated by the Regional Centre for Biotechnology. BIRAC's own BioNEST register lists the centre (spelled Regional Center for Biotechnology) among its supported bio-incubators. Neither source states the funding period, so whether the current sanction is live cannot be told from them.
Collaborates on the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (DPIIT)
Stated on BBB's own page as a collaboration by the Regional Centre for Biotechnology with the scheme under DPIIT. The public seed fund portal could not be queried to confirm it, and the page publishes no call or form of its own.
Host Institute under the Ministry of MSME
Stated on BBB's own page: the Regional Centre for Biotechnology is recognised and registered as a Host Institute under the MSME scheme and takes part in the MSME Idea Hackathon. The ministry's own host institute list was unreachable when this was checked, so it rests on the centre's statement.
