ABDM Sandbox

Platform

A test environment where health-tech companies integrate their software with ABDM, then go live after committee approval and a security audit.

Best for: Health-tech companies that want to build software integrated with ABDM.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

The ABDM Sandbox gives health facilities and health-tech companies access to ABDM's building blocks: the ABHA number service, the consent manager and gateway, the ABHA mobile app and a health information user app. It is available in all states and union territories.

What you get

  • Access to the ABDM components to build and test against.
  • A staged path: ABHA creation and verification, then linking health records to an ABHA address, then exchanging records between health facilities.
  • Live access once the health tech committee is satisfied with your demo.

Who can apply

  • Companies building health information providers, health repository providers, health information users or health lockers.
  • Existing providers and payers, existing ABDM partners, healthcare service providers and healthcare facility providers have their own routes.
  • No stage, revenue or equity condition is stated.

How selection works: you get access after the health tech committee approves your request. You then integrate, pass functional testing and a security audit, and show the result to the committee before going live. Production hosting needs a web application security assessment certificate from a CERT-In empanelled organisation, and a new one after major changes.

How to apply: use the request button on the sandbox site and create an account. The form asks for entity type, GSTIN, product name, website, whether you are registered or licensed to operate in India, and the integration type (ABDM, UHI or NHCX). Queries go to abdm@nha.gov.in.

Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS)

Programme

NHA pays incentives to health facilities and software companies for eligible ABDM transactions, after they have integrated and gone live.

Best for: Health facilities and companies whose ABDM-enabled software is already live.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

DHIS is paid on usage. It is not a grant, and it is not investment. NHA pays incentives on eligible, KYC-verified, ABHA-linked digital health-record transactions and on consent-based record-sharing transactions, above 100 transactions a month. Health facilities and Digital Solution Companies are separate recipients with different rates.

What you get

  • Incentive payments on eligible transactions once your software is live on ABDM.
  • The notice in force at the time of writing covers April to September 2026 and counts only KYC-verified, ABHA-linked health records and consent-based sharing. The scheme page does not say what applies after that, so check it for current terms.

Who can apply

  • All health facilities: clinics, nursing homes and hospitals.
  • Laboratory and radiology diagnostic centres and pharmacies.
  • Companies that provide ABDM-enabled digital solutions (Digital Solution Companies).

How to apply: as a Digital Solution Company, register on the ABDM Sandbox, integrate and go live with a health facility's ABDM-enabled software, register for DHIS from your sandbox profile, then claim the incentive from the same profile. Questions go to abdm.incentive@nha.gov.in.

AB PM-JAY Auto-Adjudication Hackathon 2026

Competition

A closed hackathon on automating AB PM-JAY claims adjudication, held with the IndiaAI Mission and IISc Bengaluru; the finale was on 8 and 9 May 2026.

The NHCX Hackathon, titled Accelerating Health Claims Journey, asked individuals and teams to build open-source microservices aligned with National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX) protocols and standards, so that they work across the ABDM ecosystem. Problem statements came from hospitals, insurers and digital health platforms. It is closed.

राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य प्राधिकरण (NHA) भारत सरकार की वह एजेंसी है जो आयुष्मान भारत प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना (AB PM-JAY), सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना, को लागू करती है, और आयुष्मान भारत डिजिटल मिशन (ABDM) को डिज़ाइन और संचालित करती है। यह नई दिल्ली में कनॉट प्लेस के जीवन भारती भवन में स्थित है। यह एक सरकारी निकाय है, इनक्यूबेटर या अनुदान देने वाली संस्था नहीं, और यह इनक्यूबेटर कोहॉर्ट नहीं चलाती। स्वास्थ्य-तकनीक कंपनियों के लिए यह ABDM पर निर्माण के लिए एक सैंडबॉक्स, ABDM पर लाइव होने वाले सॉफ़्टवेयर के लिए एक प्रोत्साहन योजना, और कभी-कभार हैकाथॉन प्रदान करती है।

NHA के अपने पेज कहते हैं कि उसे ABDM की रणनीति, तकनीकी ढाँचे और क्रियान्वयन की ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी गई है। ABDM को भारत सरकार ने सितंबर 2021 में एक एकीकृत, नागरिक-केंद्रित राष्ट्रीय डिजिटल स्वास्थ्य पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र बनाने के लिए शुरू किया था।

ABDM सैंडबॉक्स

ABDM सैंडबॉक्स किसी कंपनी के लिए मुख्य रास्ता है। NHA कहता है कि उसने जो डिजिटल ढाँचा बनाया है, जिसमें ABHA नंबर सेवा, कंसेंट मैनेजर और गेटवे, ABHA मोबाइल ऐप और एक हेल्थ इन्फ़ॉर्मेशन यूज़र ऐप शामिल हैं, वह एकीकरण के लिए स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं और स्वास्थ्य-तकनीक खिलाड़ियों के लिए खुला है। यह सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में उपलब्ध है।

प्रक्रिया क्रम में चलती है। आप अनुरोध भेजते हैं और स्वास्थ्य टेक समिति की मंज़ूरी के बाद पहुँच मिलती है। आप सैंडबॉक्स के साथ एकीकृत होते हैं, फ़ंक्शनल टेस्ट चलाते हैं और एकीकरण की सुरक्षा ऑडिट करवाते हैं। फिर आप परिणाम स्वास्थ्य टेक समिति को दिखाते हैं और लाइव होने से पहले लाइव पहुँच पाते हैं। एप्लिकेशन को प्रोडक्शन में होस्ट करने के लिए आपको CERT-In से सूचीबद्ध संगठन का वेब एप्लिकेशन सिक्योरिटी असेसमेंट सर्टिफ़िकेट चाहिए, और बड़े बदलावों के बाद फिर से।

डिजिटल हेल्थ इंसेंटिव योजना

डिजिटल हेल्थ इंसेंटिव योजना (DHIS) स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं और डिजिटल सॉल्यूशन कंपनियों को प्रोत्साहन देती है, यानी ABDM-सक्षम सॉफ़्टवेयर के विक्रेताओं को। यह उपयोग के आधार पर भुगतान होता है, एकीकरण और लाइव होने के बाद, इसलिए यह सीड फ़ंडिंग नहीं है। प्रोत्साहन केवल 100 से अधिक पात्र लेन-देन प्रति माह पर लागू होते हैं। लिखे जाने के समय प्रभावी सूचना अप्रैल से सितंबर 2026 तक की है और केवल KYC-सत्यापित, ABHA-लिंक्ड स्वास्थ्य रिकॉर्ड और सहमति-आधारित रिकॉर्ड-साझाकरण लेन-देन गिनती है। योजना पेज नहीं बताता कि सितंबर 2026 के बाद क्या लागू होगा। दरें और सीमाएँ नोटिस के बीच बदलती हैं, इसलिए वर्तमान शर्तों के लिए योजना पेज देखें।
