The AB PM-JAY Auto Adjudication Hackathon 2026 is organized by the National Health Authority (NHA) in collaboration with IndiaAI, Digital India, and MyGov India. It invites researchers, innovators, and technology professionals to build AI-powered solutions that automate claims adjudication under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana — India's largest public health insurance scheme.
The hackathon targets a real operational bottleneck: processing high volumes of insurance claims with speed, accuracy, and compliance. Currently, manual adjudication leads to delays, inconsistencies, and potential fraud. NHA is looking for scalable, technology-driven approaches that can improve turnaround time while maintaining transparency and trust in the system.
Finalists present their solutions at an offline event at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru on May 8–9, 2026, before a panel of policymakers, healthcare leaders, and technology experts. Day two includes discussions on AI's regulatory safeguards in healthcare claims — signaling NHA's intent to move winning solutions toward real-world implementation. The hackathon is backed by senior officials including NHA CEO Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal and healthcare leader Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty.
