National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is a premier technical institution in Assam, established in 1967. It is an Institute of National Importance under the MHRD (now MoE), offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering and science.

Innovation & Incubation

NIT Silchar hosts a Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) that supports student and alumni startups with technology-driven innovations. The centre is supported under government schemes and connects startups to the broader northeast India startup ecosystem.
