TiHAN (Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation) is a Section 8 company established at IIT Hyderabad under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), funded by the Department of Science and Technology with a sanction of 135 crore rupees. TiHAN serves as India's first testbed for autonomous navigation systems, both terrestrial and aerial. The hub focuses on autonomous navigation, UAVs, 6G communications, and cyber-physical systems, developing multi-sensor perception, path planning, and AI-driven navigation for drones and autonomous vehicles in Indian conditions. TiHAN has developed and deployed an autonomous campus shuttle and offers India's first M.Tech in Smart Mobility at IIT Hyderabad. The hub actively nurtures over 35 startups and drives research across sectors including healthcare, agriculture, defence, smart cities, and clean energy.
