Leaders for India Organization (LIO) is a private investor network based in Hyderabad. It brings together high-net-worth individuals, NRIs and business leaders who look at private investment opportunities together. An investment committee vets each opportunity before it reaches members, and members decide for themselves whether to invest.

How the network works

LIO describes itself as an alternative investment platform. It runs due diligence on each opportunity and shares what it finds with members, who decide from there.

How founders can get in front of members

Founders raising capital can submit a startup pitch with a pitch deck. The investment committee reviews each submission against its 5M principle. If there is a fit, the team shares the opportunity with members. Founders hear back either way.

Who can join

Membership is described in two ways: as open to investors, professionals and founders, and as curated and invite-only. Applications are reviewed by the LIO team before anyone is contacted.

Scale

LIO's own figures are 34 businesses funded, 261 members and more than 1,250 opportunities vetted. They are self-reported and carry no as-of date.
