Who is eligible for the TN Space Tech Fund?
DPIIT-recognised startups working in space-tech verticals are eligible. The startup must be registered in Tamil Nadu or willing to shift its registered office there before fund disbursement. A validated PoC (prototype, pilot, lab validation, or test results) and a confirmed lead investor or investment raised in the last 12 months (or a letter of intent from an investor) are required.
Is this a grant or equity investment?
The TN Space Tech Fund is a matching equity fund, not a grant. It co-invests alongside a confirmed lead investor on a 1:1 funding match basis. Equity is given in exchange for the investment.
What is the maximum investment a startup can receive?
The fund can invest up to ₹50 lakhs per startup (based on the fund corpus of ₹10 crore and the 1:1 matching structure). Confirm the exact per-startup cap with StartupTN.
What space-tech verticals are covered?
The fund covers satellite technologies, launch systems, GIS, AI for space applications, orbital logistics, and space data processing, among other core and downstream space-tech domains.
Does my startup need to be currently registered in Tamil Nadu?
Not necessarily at application stage, but the startup must shift its registered office to Tamil Nadu before the fund is disbursed. Being willing to make this shift is a mandatory condition.

If you do not yet have a confirmed lead investor or investment in the last 12 months, you may still apply if you have a formal letter of intent from an investor. Startups without any investor interest are currently not eligible.
