Choose the right route

• Lab-proven technology, no company yet: TIR.
• Incorporated deep-tech startup in AI, robotics, novel materials, sensors or cyber-physical systems: VIP. Ask ARTPARK whether SIP is the same route.
• Industry project in robotics or autonomous systems: CAMRAS. No intake is shown, so contact ARTPARK first.
• 5G or next-generation communications work: CoE-WWT.
• Final-year Bachelor's or Master's student: the fellowship, when its next round opens.

How applications work

• TIR and VIP each have an Apply Now button on their own pages.

ARTPARK, the AI and Robotics Technology Park, is an organisation based at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru. Its registered name is I-Hub for Robotics and Autonomous Systems Innovation Foundation. It runs startup incubation, an industry accelerator, skilling and applied research in AI and robotics.

How its programmes work

ARTPARK's startup work sits under an umbrella that its homepage calls Startup @ARTPARK. The homepage describes it as an incubation and accelerator programme for entrepreneurs and researchers at different stages. Two startup calls have run most recently: the Technology Innovators in Residence (TIR) programme, for innovators with lab-proven technology, and the Venture Incubation Programme (VIP), which invests in incorporated deep-tech startups. The overview page names these two as the programmes that support deep-tech startups.

The site describes the incorporated-startup route in two ways. Its VIP page names VIP as that route, while its TIR page says incorporated startups enter through a Startup Incubation Program (SIP). The pages do not make clear whether SIP and VIP are the same thing, so ask ARTPARK which route fits your company.

Both calls had applications close in 2026. The overview page says applications for the current cohort are closed, but the TIR and VIP pages still show Apply Now buttons next to dates that have already passed. Read the dates on each page before you plan an application.

ARTPARK also runs CAMRAS, an industry accelerator for robotics and autonomous systems, and the Center of Excellence for Wired and Wireless Technologies (CoE-WWT), which is focused on next-generation communications and AI. Its ARTPARK Academy offers fellowships to final-year students. The programmes page lists CAMRAS among ongoing initiatives, but the CAMRAS page describes a start with eight projects and gives no current intake.

Who can apply

The startup calls serve different founders. VIP is for incorporated deep-tech startups in AI, robotics, novel materials, sensors and cyber-physical systems. TIR is for innovators with lab-proven, differentiated technology who want to find a market and get ready to start a company. CAMRAS takes industry projects in robotics and autonomous systems. CoE-WWT invites 5G enthusiasts, startups, SMEs and industry associations to connect. The pages do not state geography or founder-residency criteria for the startup calls.

Facilities

ARTgarage is a 75,000 sq ft facility, and the 5G Live Test Lab is listed with it. ARTPARK holds a monthly Open Day that lets visitors into ARTgarage to see what it builds and how it builds it.

Scale

ARTPARK says it has sponsored 124 applied research projects that support research programmes in universities and other institutions. It reports more than 6,000 users for its High-Risk Pregnancy Copilot, which it says is deployed in production.

Its Project Vaani speech datasets are open and available. The site reports 31.2k hours of speech data covering 109 languages, 165 districts and more than 156,000 speakers. A second phase, it says, adds 5,000 speech hours from 40 districts. These are figures ARTPARK reports about itself.

Who runs it

ARTPARK describes itself as a charitable organisation, seed-funded by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. It says it is approved under section 80G of the tax law and that it is registered for corporate social responsibility activities. Its certifications page also says ARTPARK is recognised as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by DSIR, which it says allows certain customs duty exemptions on imports.

The Government of Karnataka seed-funded CoE-WWT. That funding is stated for the centre, not for ARTPARK as a whole.
