INDIA DeepSpark
FundAum Ventures' initiative to find and back early-stage, IP-led deep-tech startups from India with pre-seed investment.
Best for: Early-stage founders building IP-led deep technology from India.
With Incubators and innovation hubs as ecosystem partners
What you get, who can apply and how to applyHide details
Aum Ventures calls INDIA DeepSpark its flagship initiative for early-stage, IP-led deep-tech companies taking breakthrough technology from research to market. The 2026 edition is the second. News coverage at launch called it DeepSpark 2.0.
What you get
- Pre-seed investment from Aum Ventures for selected startups. The terms are not published.
- As reported at launch: a founder roadshow with one-to-one office hours, investor-readiness sessions and conversations with sector experts.
Who can apply
- Early-stage founders building proprietary, IP-led deep technology from India.
- No formal eligibility rules are published.
How selection works: Aum does not publish its criteria. Its page says investment is decided on conviction rather than on a finished product.
How to apply: Use the online form on the DeepSpark site. It asks for company details, the founders' profiles, the product's technology readiness level, funding raised so far and a pitch deck. You can apply directly with no introduction. The page states no closing date. Launch coverage reported applications open until mid-September 2026, so check the current status first.
Open route for any founder to send a deck to the fund outside DeepSpark. It is investor intake, not a programme with defined terms.
Best for: Pre-seed and seed technology founders building from India for global markets.

How to apply to Aum Ventures
Choosing a route
- INDIA DeepSpark is for early-stage, IP-led deep-tech companies. If that is you, apply through the DeepSpark form rather than the general pitch form.
- If you are a pre-seed or seed technology company outside deep tech, use the general pitch form or email pitch@aumvc.com.
- Neither route needs an introduction.
Before you apply
- Check the current status of the DeepSpark call on Aum's site. Launch coverage gave a mid-September 2026 close, but the form stayed live afterwards.
- Have a pitch deck ready. Both forms take one.
- For DeepSpark, know your product's technology readiness level and what grants or investment you have raised so far. The form asks for both.
- Be clear about which part of your technology is proprietary. Aum's thesis is built around IP.
How selection works
- Aum does not publish selection criteria or a scoring method. Its programme page says investment is decided on conviction, not on a finished product.
- Expect a decision from a venture fund, not from a grants panel. Terms are not published, so ask about them in any conversation.
What to ask
- What the investment terms are, and what the cheque size is for your stage.
- Which sessions and introductions are part of DeepSpark for the current edition.
About Aum Ventures
Aum Ventures, also written AUM VC and online at aumvc.com, is an early-stage venture capital firm. It backs founders who are building IP-led technology businesses from India for global markets. It runs INDIA DeepSpark, an initiative for early-stage deep-tech companies, and takes pitches from founders outside that initiative too.
What Aum Ventures invests in
Aum's own pages describe a thesis built around pre-seed and seed companies, proprietary intellectual property, teams based in India and ambition to sell worldwide. Its pitch page invites founders who are building something from India that the world has not seen before. It does not publish formal eligibility rules, so the thesis is the best guide to fit.
INDIA DeepSpark
Aum calls INDIA DeepSpark its flagship initiative for early-stage, IP-led deep-tech companies taking breakthrough technology from research to market. Selected startups can receive pre-seed investment from Aum Ventures. The terms of that investment are not published on the programme page. Aum describes DeepSpark as an initiative that invests. It does not describe it as an accelerator with a fixed-length cohort.
The 2026 edition is the second one. Aum's pages call it INDIA DeepSpark '26, and news coverage at its launch called it DeepSpark 2.0. That coverage reported a DeepSpark Roadshow with one-to-one founder office hours, investor-readiness sessions and conversations with sector experts. We have not confirmed those details on Aum's own pages.
Founders apply through an online form on the DeepSpark site. The form asks for company details, the founders' profiles, the product's technology readiness level, any grants or investment raised so far, and a pitch deck. A founder can apply directly. No introduction is needed.
The DeepSpark page states no closing date. News coverage at launch reported that applications were open until mid-September 2026, which has now passed. The form was still live when we last checked, so confirm with Aum before you assume the window is shut.
First edition and track record
Aum's DeepSpark page reports figures from the first edition in 2025: more than 500 applications, more than 20 startups engaged closely and more than 30 ecosystem partners. These are Aum's own numbers. The same page says one startup backed through DeepSpark went on to raise a follow-on round. News coverage of the 2026 launch said the first edition worked with more than 30 incubators and innovation hubs, and named Sanyark Space as a company that came out of it.
Aum's team page says a founding partner has led investments in more than 60 startups across India, and lists companies such as Smiles.ai, LenDenClub, ChargeZone, ShareChat and Sourcewiz. That describes the partner's earlier record, and it is self-reported.
Pitching outside DeepSpark
Any founder can send a deck to Aum at any time, through the pitch form or by email to pitch@aumvc.com. The form asks for your name, startup name, email, sector, a short pitch and a deck. This is investor intake. It is not a programme with defined terms, a fixed intake or a promise of a reply.
The cheque size on offer differs between Aum's DeepSpark page and its thesis page, because one describes the initiative and the other the whole fund. Ask Aum for current terms before you plan a round around either figure.
Funds and who runs it
Aum's investor relations page lists its investment vehicles. Fund I, AUM VC FUND LP, is registered in the Abu Dhabi Global Market as a Category 3C fund. It was registered in June 2022 and is managed by Assets Under Management Ventures Ltd. Fund II, Aum Ventures Investment Trust – Scheme II, is registered with SEBI as a Category II Alternative Investment Fund. It was registered in February 2026 and is managed by AUMVC India Partners LLP. A third vehicle, AUM Ventures DE II LP, is managed by AUM Ventures DE Management LLC.
News headlines on Aum's newsroom page also refer to a second India fund, the India Innovation Fund II. We have not confirmed its structure or size from Aum's own pages. Aum does not publish an office address or a founding year on the pages we read.
