Incubation Centre IIT Patna

The Incubation Centre at IIT Patna (IC IITP) was established in 2015 on the Bihta campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Patna. It is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Government of India. The centre operates as a Section 8 company and provides infrastructure, mentoring, and funding access to technology-driven startups.

Role in the Startup Ecosystem

IC IITP is one of the few government-backed deep tech incubators operating in Bihar, a state where the startup ecosystem is still developing. The centre leverages IIT Patna's research strengths in electronics, medical devices, and IoT to support hardware and science-driven ventures. It plays a key role in building entrepreneurial capacity in Tier 2-3 India.

• ESDM Incubation Program: Focused on Electronics System Design and Manufacturing, this program supports startups building hardware products, consumer electronics, and embedded systems.
