Start by choosing the right programme

Cultiv8 runs more than one route in, and they are not interchangeable. Match your stage first:

• At idea or very early stage, wanting a short, hands-on sprint: LaunchLite, a four-week execution sprint.
• Looking for a longer incubation base with coworking, mentoring and seed-support access: the Incubation Program.
• Validating product-market fit and working on go-to-market: watch the accelerator track for its next cohort.

How applications work

Each live programme has its own online application form on the Cultiv8 site. The Incubation Program and LaunchLite both accept applications through their own forms. Several accelerator batches, including the Overseas Accelerator and Accelerator 1.0 and 2.0, are shown as completed cohorts rather than open calls, so there may not be an open form for them between intakes.

How selection works

LaunchLite states plainly that it selects founders on commitment, coachability and an execution mindset, not on having a perfect idea. The Incubation Program is open to founders from idea stage through to mature growth-stage ventures. Where a programme is geographically scoped — as the 2024 Overseas Accelerator was, to Tamil Nadu startups — that is set per batch.

• An execution mindset. LaunchLite is built for founders who will move from ambiguity to clarity through hands-on work.
• A stage that fits the programme. The incubation offer spans idea to growth; the accelerators step in around product-market fit.
• Fit with a named focus where one exists. LaunchLite names legal tech, real estate tech and agri tech as its best-fit areas.

Cultiv8 is a technology business incubator based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is the technology business incubator of the Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET), its host institution, and it describes itself as powered by the Government of India. Its coworking base, Cultiv8 Coworks, is on Gurusamy Nagar, Codissia Road, Peelamedu, Coimbatore.

Cultiv8 works with founders across the spectrum, from idea and early-stage teams to more mature startups looking for their next stage of growth. It runs a standing incubation offer alongside a set of accelerator programmes, and channels government seed support to its startups through two schemes: NIDHI-SSS, supported by the Department of Science and Technology, and the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme.

What they support

Cultiv8 does not restrict itself to a single sector. Its newest sprint, LaunchLite, names a focus on legal tech, real estate tech and agri tech, while its accelerator track has at various points worked with industrial deep-tech teams. Across its programmes it supports founders at idea, prototype and early-traction stages, and its accelerators step in once a startup is validating product-market fit and working on go-to-market.

Eligibility is set programme by programme rather than through a single published list. The standing incubation programme is open to startups from idea stage to mature growth-stage ventures. LaunchLite selects on founder attributes — commitment, coachability and an execution mindset — rather than on how polished an idea is. The past Overseas Accelerator batch was open only to startups based in Tamil Nadu.

Programmes

Cultiv8's standing offer is its Incubation Program, which gives startups coworking space in Coimbatore, mentoring and technical expertise, partner software credits, community networking, and access to government seed support through NIDHI-SSS and the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme.

LaunchLite is the newest live programme: a four-week, venture-studio-led execution sprint for idea-stage and very early-stage founders, run as an operator-led founder sprint rather than a taught course. It has an open registration form.

Several accelerator batches are run as closed cohorts between intakes. The Overseas Accelerator Program 2024 equipped a group of Tamil Nadu startups with a global entrepreneurial lens, facilitated by Jumpstart Studio in Australia in partnership with Payirgal. Accelerator 2.0 focused on product-market-fit validation and go-to-market execution with hands-on mentorship, and Accelerator 1.0 accelerated eleven startups, three of which expanded into global markets, with over 250 hours of mentoring and go-to-market support. Cultiv8 also describes an Intrapreneurship Accelerator for industrial deep-tech solutions and an Idea to Business programme for aspiring entrepreneurs, though neither states a current intake.

Facilities and support

Cultiv8 offers its startups coworking space in Coimbatore, at Cultiv8 Coworks in Peelamedu. Its incubation offer also includes mentoring and technical expertise, a startup community to network and learn in, and partner software credits.

Track record

On its own counters Cultiv8 reports more than 150 startups supported, more than 60 products released and more than 8 patents filed. These are the incubator's own self-reported figures. Its pages give different totals for the seed and follow-on funding its startups have drawn, so those are best read as orders of magnitude rather than settled counts.

How to apply

Applications are made programme by programme through an online form. The Incubation Program and LaunchLite each have their own application form on the Cultiv8 site, and LaunchLite's selection weighs founder commitment and execution over idea maturity. The past accelerator batches are shown as completed cohorts without an open intake, so founders interested in those should check the accelerator page for the next round.
