Pick the right stage

iTNT Hub runs founders through a sequence, so start where your idea actually is:

• Just have an idea or unproven IP: apply to BEACON, the four-day idea-validation bootcamp.
• Have a validated idea, prototype, MVP or scalable product: apply to PATHFINDER, the 12 to 18 month incubation programme.
• Have a working prototype with early traction, customers or pilots: apply to iAccelerate, the 12-week acceleration cohort (or its hardware-specific track if you're building physical product).
• Have identified a real problem and are working on a solution, in any field: consider the Venture Studio, which works hands-on with founders but takes an equity stake.

How to apply

• Each programme has its own registration form, reached through a "Register Now" link on that programme's page — there is no single shared application across programmes.
• The Venture Studio takes an application through its own form; the team reviews it and may follow up with a call to understand the problem, your technology readiness, your team, and what support you need.
• The iTNT FOUNDATION Fund cannot be applied to on its own — apply for PATHFINDER or iAccelerate first, and fund consideration follows from that application.

What reviewers look for

• For PATHFINDER, a validated idea and a working prototype, MVP or scalable product in deep tech or emerging tech.
• For iAccelerate, a functional prototype, plus signs of early traction such as pilot projects or early customers.
• For the iTNT FOUNDATION Fund, being registered in Tamil Nadu as a private limited company, at least 51 percent Indian promoter shareholding, and not being a subsidiary or reconstruction of an existing business.

Before you apply

• If you're building hardware, look at the separate TN Hardware Accelerator track under iAccelerate — it splits founders by how far along the product is, from early design work through to a product ready for mass production.
• Watch for open Innovation Challenges if you'd rather compete on a specific problem statement — past ones have run with Bosch, AWS and Rolls-Royce, and strong entries can move into incubation or acceleration.

Tamil Nadu Technology Hub, known as iTNT Hub, is a Section 8 company set up by the Government of India, the Government of Tamil Nadu and industry partners, and it sits under Tamil Nadu's Information Technology and Digital Services Department. It is headquartered at Anna University in Kotturpuram, Chennai, with regional hubs at Anna University's Trichy and Madurai campuses and at Government College of Technology, Coimbatore. iTNT Hub focuses on deep tech and emerging tech, including AI, IoT, robotics, quantum computing and cybersecurity, and on sectors such as climate tech, space tech, electric vehicles, geospatial technology and healthcare.

How programmes work

iTNT Hub runs founders through a sequence of programmes rather than one fixed track. BEACON is a four-day idea-validation bootcamp for individuals, teams, early-stage startups and researchers, run across Chennai, Trichy, Madurai and Coimbatore; strong participants can get priority selection into the next stage. PATHFINDER is the incubation programme, for tech startups with a validated idea, working prototype, MVP or scalable product, running 12 to 18 months. iAccelerate is a 12-week acceleration cohort for startups with a working prototype and early traction, and it also runs a hardware-specific track with two entry points depending on how far along the product is. Alongside these, the Venture Studio takes a more hands-on, co-creation approach, working with startups, researchers, students and technology teams from an identified problem through to a scalable venture; it takes an equity stake of up to 5 percent in the startups it onboards.

Who can apply

Each programme has its own stage and readiness bar. BEACON is open to anyone with an idea or IP worth commercialising. PATHFINDER expects a validated idea or a working prototype, MVP or scalable product in a deep tech or emerging tech area, and readiness to scale with structured support. iAccelerate expects a functional prototype with early traction, customers or pilot projects; its hardware track further splits founders by how developed the product is, from early design work through to a product ready for mass production. The Venture Studio takes the widest net, working with startups, innovators, researchers, working professionals, students and technology teams who have identified a real problem and are working on a solution.

Founders admitted to PATHFINDER or iAccelerate can also apply for the iTNT FOUNDATION Fund, a seed fund for Tamil Nadu-registered private limited companies with at least 51 percent Indian promoter shareholding. The fund is not open to a standalone application — it is only considered alongside an incubation or acceleration application, and it invests through either hybrid convertible shares or direct equity depending on the case.

iTNT Hub also runs and hosts Innovation Challenges with government and industry partners — recent ones have run with Bosch on IoT security, with AWS on public-sector solutions, and with Rolls-Royce on heat-wave mitigation. Winners and other strong entries from these challenges can move into incubation or acceleration support, and iTNT Hub also helps route the resulting technology to the partner. A related effort, JIGSAW, is an online platform meant to connect industry- and government-posted problem statements with researchers, startups and students, alongside investor meetings and analytics; it is a newer initiative and its scale is not yet clear from the site.

The hub's Innovation Network is its web of MoU partnerships with universities, incubators and companies in India and abroad, used to bring knowledge exchange, mentorship, R&D cooperation and market access to the startups it supports. Its International Pavilion helps Tamil Nadu startups expand into other countries, through events such as GITEX Dubai and SWITCH Singapore and soft-landing support for pilots and market entry abroad.

iTNT Hub also runs a Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre (TNTTFC) that offers IP support, helps convert academic research into commercial products, supports early-stage innovators seeking seed funding, and helps researchers spin their IP out into ventures.

iTNT Hub separately maintains a general funding directory page that lists a long roster of national and state schemes it does not itself run, such as the Startup India Seed Fund and TANSEED — this is a signposting page rather than a list of iTNT Hub's own programmes, and founders should treat entries there as pointers to other bodies unless a programme is confirmed elsewhere on the site as iTNT Hub's own.

Facilities

At its Chennai campus, iTNT Hub runs a 3D Printing Lab, an IoT & Electronics Lab with tools for building and testing hardware, an AR/VR Studio for building immersive experiences, and an AI Lab with high-performance computing for training and deploying models. A Quantum Lab is listed as coming soon. The site also refers to a FabLab & Design Studio for rapid prototyping and small-batch production, and to co-working space.

Who runs it

iTNT Hub's board includes senior Tamil Nadu IAS officers from the Information Technology and Digital Services, Higher Education and Finance departments, along with the Mission Director (FAC) of the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (StartupTN), a General Manager from State Bank of India, and industry representatives. Its CEO is Vanitha Venugopal. iTNT Hub and StartupTN are separate bodies with separate websites, though they share some state government leadership and iTNT Hub focuses specifically on deep tech and emerging tech rather than the state's broader startup ecosystem.

iTNT Hub has signed MoUs with organisations including T-Works, T-Hub, Bosch Global Software Technologies, Mahindra and Mahindra, Rolls-Royce, IIT Madras Research Park, and several international partners such as Swissnex India and the University of Melbourne. Its careers page currently lists no open roles. Its portfolio includes startups such as Torus Robotics, COSGrid Systems and Tvasta Manufacturing from the acceleration track, and Spacetug, Scrapify Ecotech and Acrofluidic Innovation from incubation, among many others named on its site.

iTNT Hub's main campus is at the Sir C V Raman Science Block, Anna University Campus, Kotturpuram, Chennai. Its regional hubs are at Anna University's Trichy and Madurai campuses and at Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.
