About Campus Venture Catalyst Program (CVCP)
CVCP is the last rung, and the only one aimed at company formation rather than the science. It is run by the institute's E-Cell committee and is described as an institutional entrepreneurship scheme.
What you get
- Reimbursement-based seed support for company registration and product development
- Support for taking the venture to exhibitions, startup expos and innovation fairs
- Stall booking, demo events and product launch support through the centre's showcase activities
Who can apply
- Regularly registered students of the institute
- Institute interns
- Faculty members
- Start-up ideas already registered with the Bio Enabler Centre
- You must be registered with the institute's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, the idea must have clear commercial or social impact potential, and you must be willing to share equity with the institute under its policy
How selection works: you submit a proposal and the grant application form to the E-Cell committee. It screens for eligibility, merit and fit with the scheme's objectives, shortlisted applicants give a structured pitch, and the committee approves on innovation potential, market feasibility, entrepreneurial commitment and social or commercial impact. Decisions are stated as final and binding.
What it costs you: the institute holds equity in the supported venture as a condition of the scheme, and anything created falls under the institute's intellectual property policy. Supported ventures file quarterly progress reports and documentation of how the support was used.
How to apply: the centre publishes a separate application document for this scheme on its Bio Enabler Centre page. No intake window or deadline is published. Queries go to bibt@blalbiotech.com.
