About SPARK Fellowship
SPARK is where an idea from inside the institute starts. It is for work still at the concept or ideation stage, and it runs for up to a year.
What you get
- Reimbursement-based support for consumables and basic experimentation
- Support for prototype conceptualisation and design or model development
- Support for market and field validation, testing and documentation
- A named institute mentor who oversees the project's progress
Who can apply
- Enrolled UG, PG and PhD students of the institute
- Student innovators working under approved mentors of the institute
- Teams registered through institute ideation formats — ideathons, bootcamps, SPARK Tank or incubation pre-cells
- The idea must be at concept or ideation stage and not already funded under another institutional scheme
How selection works: every proposal is screened and approved by the institute's screening committee before anything proceeds. Support is released only as reimbursement, against original bills raised in the institute's name, after review by the Bio Enabler Centre office, the finance department and institute management.
How to apply: fill the application form published on the Bio Enabler Centre page. It is headed "To be filled by Student Innovator" and asks for your enrollment number, your programme, an itemised budget, a phased timeline of up to one year, and your mentor's signed approval. No intake window or deadline is published. General queries go to bibt@blalbiotech.com.
