Duane Park

Duane Park is the holding and investment company of Anurag Bhargava, an individual investor based in New Delhi. It describes itself as an investor rather than a programme: its stated aim is to help organisations grow from seed to scale, adding value across all stages of business and strategy. It is not a cohort-based incubator or accelerator, and it does not run an open application process for founders.

What they do

Duane Park positions itself as a provider of patient and sustained capital, working alongside the companies it backs over the long term. It points to its network and market linkages as part of what it offers, and frames its approach around building an incubation culture inside its portfolio companies to help them grow, rather than running a fixed-term programme. Because Duane Park is Anurag Bhargava's own holding company, a founder cannot apply to it through a form or an intake; a company would come to its attention through an introduction or a general enquiry.

Portfolio

Duane Park organises its portfolio into broad groupings: direct-to-consumer in retail, direct-to-consumer in housing, and direct-to-business. It has pointed to realised outcomes among its holdings, including a partial exit from Ummeed Housing Finance, one of India's housing finance companies, and an exit from its investment in Yaantra. Who runs it

The firm is built around Anurag Bhargava, described as a global investor who works through his holding company, Duane Park. He also sits on the boards of SpiceJet and Ummeed Housing Finance. Earlier in his career he was a co-founder and Managing Partner of India Equity Partners, a long-term private equity fund, and he set up EI Dorado, a public investment vehicle established as a special purpose vehicle in 2004 to invest in Bajaj Holdings and Bajaj Finance. These are his own ventures and investment history rather than programmes run by Duane Park.
