Eximius Ventures is a pre-seed venture capital firm that backs founders at the very start, often at the idea stage and sometimes before a company is incorporated. It is run by Eximius Capital Ventures Private Limited, and it has offices in Delhi and Bangalore. It describes its first cheque as "Cheque Zero" and aims to be the first institutional investor in a company.

What Eximius backs

The firm says it invests in bold entrepreneurs and seasoned operators building companies from India for the world. Its thesis is sector-led rather than momentum-led. It names three areas it focuses on: FinAI, Enterprise AI and Consumer AI. Within them it publishes short thesis notes on topics such as physical AI, defence technology, climate tech, logistics, fast fashion and AI in financial services. These notes are free to download from its Eximius Echo page and are a good way to see what the team already believes before you pitch.

How it works with founders

Eximius says it primarily invests in pre-product or early-traction rounds, and that it is happy to lead or co-lead. It also helps build the rest of the round by introducing founders to its venture partner network, other founders and operators, and friendly funds. Eximius Edge and the playbook

Eximius Edge is the firm's support platform for the founders it backs. It covers HR strategies, hiring automation and a founder community, and it also gives access to perks and partnerships across the ecosystem. The firm has also published a pre-seed fundraising playbook, which it calls India's first, and offers it as a download in exchange for a name, email and organisation.

Who runs it

Pearl Agarwal is Founder and Managing Partner. She launched Eximius Ventures in 2021, after earlier work in investing and after running DotReview, a service for early-stage founders. Preeti Nellore Sampat is a Partner focused on Enterprise AI and Consumer. The firm also lists portfolio advisors and an investment team on its team page.

Regulation and careers

Eximius Capital Ventures Private Limited states that it is the investment manager of funds licensed by SEBI as alternative investment funds. The site has a careers page and an events and community presence, including founder meetups and webinars through Eximius Edge.
