While it supports global change, local initiatives, especially in the Global South and high plastic leakage regions like Southeast Asia and coastal Africa, are preferred, alongside advocacy and innovation in the Global North.

GOT BAG is a bag and luggage maker founded in 2018 that turns recovered ocean-bound plastic into backpacks, travel luggage, crossbody and tote bags, wallets and accessories, including a lightweight nylon made from recycled fishing nets. It is a certified B Corp with more than 70 employees internationally, with collection in coastal Indonesia verified through CleanHub. Alongside the product business it runs the CARE Collective Fund, a grant programme for people and initiatives working on the ocean and the climate, organised around three pillars: community of care and climate resilience, the plastic life cycle, and the maritime ecosystem. It is open to NGOs and foundations, grassroots projects and activists, academic research projects, and social enterprises that can show impact; conventional businesses and greenwashing projects are excluded. Applications are scored on relevance, measurable impact, fit with the company's values and scalability, with preference for local initiatives, particularly in the Global South. Funded projects run for up to twelve months.
