The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is the central government ministry responsible for IT policy, electronics, and digital transformation in India. Through its nodal entity MeitY Startup Hub (MSH), the ministry promotes technology innovation and supports startups across multiple flagship schemes with significant budgetary commitments.
SAMRIDH (Startup Accelerator of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development, and Growth), launched in August 2021, supports 300 software product startups with an outlay of INR 99 crore. TIDE 2.0 promotes tech entrepreneurship through 51 incubators at institutes of higher learning with INR 264.62 crore allocated over five years, guiding approximately 2,000 tech startups. GENESIS (Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups) has a budgetary outlay of INR 490 crore over five years. NGIS supports the software product ecosystem under the National Policy on Software Products. Collectively, MeitY has supported over 3,600 tech startups with total fund disbursals exceeding INR 212 crore.
