Quick Answer
Punjab adds 50% on top of MEITY's SPECS capex support for the first 10 ESDM units, up to ₹10 crore each.
About this subsidy
Clause 12.9 of Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 stacks a state top-up on the Centre's SPECS scheme for electronics manufacturing. Once MEITY approves and provides capex support to an ESDM unit under SPECS, Punjab pays a further 50% of that approved amount, capped at ₹10 crore per unit. The offer is deliberately scarce: only the first 10 ESDM units qualify, and only those making the minimum investment prescribed under SPECS by MEITY from time to time. Because the state benefit is calculated off the sanctioned central amount, the practical sequence is to secure SPECS approval first — the Punjab claim follows it.

What You Get
Punjab pays 50% of the capex support MEITY has approved and provided to the unit under the SPECS scheme, subject to a maximum of ₹10 crore per unit. It is additional to the central support, not a substitute for it. The window is narrow — the first 10 ESDM units only — and it is conditional on the unit meeting the minimum investment MEITY prescribes under SPECS.
