Programmes they run

Standing programmes at Karnataka State Financial Corporation, separate from the funding calls above.

KSFC's programmes are mainly loans. Three are interest subsidies that lower the rate on a KSFC loan, and each sets its own conditions on the borrower's ownership or track record.

KSFC's core term loan for new tiny, small-scale, medium-scale and service units, and for expansion, modernisation or diversification of existing units.

Best for: New micro, small and medium units in Karnataka, and existing units that are expanding, modernising or diversifying.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

KSFC's term loan is its main product. It funds the setup of new units as well as the expansion, modernisation or diversification of existing ones, across a long list of eligible activities. Two named activities sit under the same route: the Single Window Scheme, which gives one loan for both fixed assets and working capital to tiny and small-scale units with small project costs, and A.M.A.R.A, which supports existing small and medium units with a good track record in raising sales and building marketing infrastructure.

What you get

  • A term loan for setting up, expanding, modernising or diversifying a unit
  • Single Window Scheme: fixed-asset and working-capital finance in one loan, for tiny and small-scale units with small project costs
  • A.M.A.R.A: support for marketing activities, for existing small and medium units with a good track record

Who can apply

  • New tiny, small-scale, medium-scale and service units in Karnataka
  • Existing units that are expanding, modernising or diversifying
  • The maximum loan depends on whether you are a proprietorship or partnership, or a company or co-operative society
  • Debt-equity ratio of 3:1 for smaller loans and 2:1 for larger ones, and 2:1 for the modernisation scheme

How to apply: Apply through a KSFC branch or the loan link on KSFC's website. The Term Loan Application Form is on KSFC's documents page. Aadhaar is not accepted as proof of identity. KSFC's published sheets give different maximum loan sizes, so confirm the limit with a branch.

Full Term Loan guide

Short-term working-capital loans for existing successful units, and construction finance for developers and contractors.

Best for: Existing successful units that need urgent working capital, and developers and contractors building housing, commercial complexes, software parks or infrastructure.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

The Corporate Loan Scheme lets existing successful units borrow short-term working capital when they need funds urgently. Those needs include a gap in working capital, a rush of orders, entering new markets, paying statutory dues such as income tax, sales tax and excise duty, and opening a letter of credit for new equipment until a term loan is sanctioned and released. The scheme also finances developers, civil contractors and construction companies building group housing, commercial complexes, software parks and infrastructure projects such as roads, flyovers and bridges.

Who can apply

  • Existing successful units that need urgent working capital
  • Developers, civil contractors and construction companies building the projects the scheme covers

How to apply: The scheme sheet does not set a separate route, so contact KSFC's nearest branch.

About Karnataka State Financial Corporation

Karnataka State Financial Corporation (KSFC) is a state-level financial institution, established by the Government of Karnataka in 1959 under the State Financial Corporations' Act, 1951. It lends to micro, small and medium enterprises in Karnataka. Its main offer is loans, and several of its schemes lower the effective interest rate on those loans for particular groups of founders.

How programmes work

KSFC's core product is the term loan. It funds new tiny, small-scale, medium-scale and service units, and the expansion, modernisation or diversification of existing units. Two named activities sit under the same term-loan route. The Single Window Scheme gives one loan for both fixed assets and working capital to tiny and small-scale units with small project costs. A.M.A.R.A (Assistance for Marketing Related Activities) supports existing small and medium units with a good track record in raising sales at home and abroad and building marketing infrastructure.

The Corporate Loan Scheme gives short-term working capital to existing successful units that need funds urgently, and finances developers and contractors building housing, commercial complexes, software parks and infrastructure. The Privileged Entrepreneurs Scheme gives short-term funds to existing KSFC borrowers in its standard category, repayable within 24 months including a six-month moratorium.

Three schemes are interest subsidies that reduce what a borrower pays on a KSFC loan. The Women Entrepreneurs Scheme brings a KSFC term loan to an effective 4% a year for five years from the first disbursement. The Interest Subsidy Scheme for SC and ST entrepreneurs brings KSFC loans to an effective 4% a year. The Modified Interest Subvention Scheme for micro and small manufacturing enterprises, which the Government of Karnataka introduced and KSFC implements, gives an effective 5.5% a year for five years when instalments are paid by the 10th of the month, and 6% otherwise.

Who can apply

Term loans are open to new units and to existing units that want to expand, modernise or diversify. The maximum loan depends on the borrower type: proprietorships and partnerships have a lower cap than private and public limited companies and co-operative societies. The term-loan sheet sets a debt-equity ratio of 3:1 for smaller loans and 2:1 for larger ones, and 2:1 for the modernisation scheme. Promoters' contribution is 20% in backward districts, 22.5% in other districts and 10% for DG set loans.

The Women Entrepreneurs Scheme covers proprietorships, partnerships and private companies in which the main woman promoter, or women promoters, hold more than 51%. It does not cover infrastructure, Kalyana Mantapas, housing and commercial buildings, real estate, malls, cinema houses, business or trading activities, purchase of construction equipment, or transport vehicles.

The SC/ST scheme is for units fully owned by SC or ST promoters: every promoter in a proprietorship, partnership or company must belong to the SC or ST community. Promoters may be SC, ST or both.

The 5.5% scheme is open to enterprises promoted by entrepreneurs of any category, men and women.

Scale

KSFC's About page reports loan sanctions to 1,77,788 enterprises since inception, up to 31 March 2026. In FY2025-26 it gave term loans to 639 micro and small enterprises. It reports that since inception it has sanctioned loans to 32,213 women entrepreneurs and 23,173 SC and ST entrepreneurs, and has extended financial support to 41,382 backward class and minority entrepreneurs. In FY2025-26 it sanctioned 144 women entrepreneurs under the 4% women's scheme and 234 entrepreneurs under the 5.5% scheme. These are self-reported figures. Some are cumulative and some cover a single year, so check which one you are quoting.
