About Defence Design & Technology Incubator of India (DDTII)

DDTII is a design-centric technology incubator for startups making products and services for defence, sitting inside the Karnavati University campus at Uvarsad. It says it supports both green-field and brown-field startups, and its stated aim is to back the Make-in-India and Atmanirbhar Bharat push in aerospace and defence.

What you get

  • A route to the end customer — direct contact with the armed forces
  • Access to funding and to support infrastructure
  • Mentorship from engineering a solution through to designing a product
  • Mentorship on building the company itself, from idea to execution

Who can apply

  • Startups working on products or services for defence applications
  • Teams exploring the aerospace and defence sector, whether starting fresh or adapting an existing product

How selection works: DDTII's public activity runs through the Defence Innovation Challenge. Two editions have been held, each ending in a Defence Demo Day with live demonstrations and in-person feedback from senior officers across commands, and field trials followed.

How to apply: no standing application route is published. Watch for the next Defence Innovation Challenge, or write to kiif@karnavatiuniversity.edu.in.
