About this grant
The MeitY GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Program is a flagship initiative to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Tier II and III cities. KIIF, as an Enabling Partner, offers non-dilutive grant support, dedicated mentorship, and access to incubation facilities. The program is designed to help committed innovators and early-stage startups transform their ideas into a validated Proof of Concept or Prototype in key technology domains.

Who is eligible to apply?
Indian citizens from Tier II or Tier III cities; full-time UG/PG students with entrepreneurial pursuits or founders/co-founders of DPIIT-registered startups (≤2 years old); working at ideation, concept development, validation, PoC, or prototyping stage; committed to full-time work and physical incubation at KIIF; not having received external funding (including government grants) exceeding ₹10 lakh; and not previously supported under any MeitY scheme.
What is the maximum grant amount?
Up to ₹10,00,000, non-dilutive.
Is the program currently open for applications?
No. The application form for Cohort 2 is closed. This record describes the scheme's structure; no information on future cohorts is available.
Do I need to be physically present at KIIF?
Yes, the program requires full-time physical incubation at the KIIF centre.
Can I apply if my startup has already received government grants?
Only if the total external funding (including government grants) is ₹10 lakh or less. Startups that have received more than ₹10 lakh are not eligible. Also, prior support under any MeitY scheme disqualifies applicants.
