Micelio Fund is a venture capital fund for clean mobility startups, run by Micelio Mobility Private Limited in Bengaluru. Micelio describes itself as a clean mobility ecosystem entity that was conceived in 2018, and says the fund is the first venture capital fund in India dedicated exclusively to clean mobility.

Who Micelio Fund backs

The fund says it focuses primarily on Pre-Seed to Series A investments in early-stage startups across the clean mobility spectrum, including OEMs, infrastructure providers, component suppliers and service providers. It also says it is keen to look at startups that could change the future of mobility in aviation, drone technology, maritime transportation, space-tech or alternative fuels. This is a thematic fund, so a generalist consumer or software startup outside mobility is unlikely to fit. Micelio says it has 12 portfolio companies today.

What else Micelio offers

The fund says it offers more than capital through two other parts of Micelio. Micelio Discovery Studio is a product development and testing facility that gives startups, MSMEs and corporates access to EV testing and validation services, some of them together with ARAI. Micelio Community is a network that brings together EV manufacturers, financiers, fleet operators and energy storage technologists through meetups, an annual Global Clean Mobility Summit and the Micelio Mobility Awards. Testing is a paid service, not a benefit of the fund, so ask for a quote and do not assume it comes with an investment.
