- Stage: its published rounds are early-stage, including Pre-Series A. Have a working product or pilot to show.
How to approach
- Peak does not publish an open call, deadlines or a selection process. There is no programme to apply to.
- Use the contact page: write to team@peakventures.in or send the message form with a short note on what you build, your stage and your traction.
- Read the portfolio page first and say how your company differs from or fits alongside what it already holds.
What to expect
- Peak is a venture fund, so it invests for a stake. Terms are not published.
- It may also bring corporate partners to climate problems through its large-scale projects, which could matter if your product serves heavy industry or utilities.
About Peak Sustainability Ventures
Peak Sustainability Ventures is a venture fund based in Mumbai that backs early-stage climate technology companies in India and Asia. Its fund, Peak Sustainability Venture Fund I, is a scheme of Peak Ventures Trust and is registered with SEBI as a Category II alternative investment fund. Peak Venture Advisors LLP is its investment manager.
What it invests in
Peak describes itself as India's deep-tech climate platform and says it backs early-stage climate technologies for India and Asia. It says it uses its domain expertise across 40+ sub-sectors, and organises its thesis into four areas. New Energy covers alternative fuels, energy storage and industrial decarbonization. Food Systems covers regenerative agriculture, waste-to-value and climate-smart farming. Water covers treatment, desalination, management and efficiency. Climate covers the built environment, carbon markets, CCUS, plastics and alternative materials.
The fund says it partners with founders building proven, scalable and defensible climate technologies. This is a deep-tech fund, so expect it to look for technology that can be defended and scaled, not only a good market story.
Portfolio
The Fund I portfolio on its site includes HT Materials Science, Hydrogen Mem-Tech, Indra Water, SustLabs, Chlorohemp, Polymateria, Brisil Technologies, Ghaziabad Bio-Energy, Avant Wood and Disperse Bio. They range from industrial water treatment and hydrogen membranes to hemp fibres, biodegradable plastics and timber modification. Its press page shows Peak as lead investor in recent Pre-Series A rounds, including SustLabs and Brisil Technologies, so a founder with a working product and early customers is the profile it appears to back.
Large-scale projects
Besides venture investing, Peak says it selectively launches large-scale joint ventures with corporate partners, for problems that early-stage innovation alone cannot solve. Its projects page describes a cotton-stalk torrefaction venture with Arvind Limited in Gujarat and a waste-to-energy platform with VA Tech Wabag. These are corporate projects, not an intake for startups.
Team and recognition
Its team page lists Samir Shah as Managing Partner and Sanjay Nayar as General Partner, with an investment team, an advisory board and a governance board. Peak is an official nominator for the Earthshot Prize and is listed as an IFC gender lens climate investor on its home page.
How to reach Peak
Peak does not publish an application form, a cohort calendar or a stated cheque size. Its contact page says founders, co-investors and partners are welcome to get in touch, and offers a role email and a message form. The office is in Mumbai.
