Samsung Research India-Bangalore (SRI-B) is Samsung's largest R&D centre outside South Korea and a key innovation hub within the Samsung group. Established in 1996, SRI-B runs startup engagement programs including the Samsung Mobile Advance (SMA) incubation program, which invites tech startups to collaborate with Samsung on innovative product ideas. Winning startups receive up to 50,000 dollars in grant funding, technical support, loan devices, and a six-month development runway. After the program, proof-of-concept projects are evaluated for further partnership opportunities with Samsung Mobile. SRI-B also organises deep-tech startup showcases covering generative AI, responsible AI, visual AI, quantum computing, and health technology. The centre focuses on advancing research in cameras, wearables, sensors, audio, and ESG-related technologies.
Early-stage and growth-stage technology startups working in AI, computer vision, wearables, sensors, health tech, and related domains. Founders seeking corporate collaboration, grant funding without equity dilution, and the opportunity to integrate their technology into Samsung's product ecosystem benefit most from SRI-B's startup programs.
