The Ministry of Heavy industry (MHI) is concerned with the development of the Heavy Engineering and Machine Tools Industry, Heavy Electrical Engineering Industry and Automotive Industry and administering the 40 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and their subsidiaries and four autonomous bodies. The objective of this collaborative ecosystem is to skill/re-skill/up-skill diploma/engineering students/industry personnel in cutting-edge technologies to further improve their career prospects and to cater for industrial requirements.

About SASTRA
SASTRA Deemed University is a deemed-to-be university based at Tirumalaisamudram in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, with additional campuses at Chennai and Kumbakonam. It is organised into twelve schools covering chemical and biotechnology, computing, civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, law, management, and arts, sciences, humanities and education, together offering seventy-nine programmes to a student body of over fifteen thousand supported by more than nine hundred faculty. Alongside teaching, the university runs twenty-three research centres and reports work by over a hundred research scholars across a comparable number of funded projects, with patents filed and a large body of publications. Its innovation activity includes incubation, and the university reports having supported more than a hundred and seventy incubatees.
