About GENESIS Matching Investment Funding
A Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology programme that SIIC runs for startups outside the metros. It matches money you have already raised from investors, and the instrument is equity.
What you get
- Matching investment support, provided as equity
- Connections to industry leaders, CSR partners, venture capitalists, angel investors, customers and global markets
- Business mentorship on investment readiness, market access and scale-up
- Co-working space and technical mentorship with access to IIT Kanpur infrastructure
Who can apply
- Registered Indian private limited companies with at least 51% Indian ownership
- Registered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city
- Holding a valid DPIIT recognition certificate
- Building a technology product or software in electronic design and manufacturing, deep-tech software and products, or ICT — service-only platforms are discouraged
- With a market-ready product, preferably already earning revenue, and preferably with granted patents
- Having raised outside funding; government grants do not count towards the match
- Not in any legal dispute, and not previously supported under TIDE 2.0 Scale-up or SAMRIDH
How selection works: Apply on the MeitY portal, then eligibility screening, internal evaluation and announcement of grantees. The programme period is 12 months.
