About this Opportunity

The MeitY GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Program - Cohort 2 is a MeitY-funded initiative to empower early-stage, first-generation entrepreneurs, particularly from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The program runs for a period of 12 months.

It provides comprehensive support to accelerate entrepreneurial growth from idea validation to product development and market entry in deep-tech domains.

Key Offerings:

Grant Funding Support: Up to ₹10 Lakhs for product development, market research, or customer validation.
Incubation & Infrastructure: Mandatory full-time physical incubation and access to SIIC IIT Kanpur’s state-of-the-art labs and ecosystem.
Mentorship: Personalized mentorship from expert and industry leaders.
Networking: Multiple industry, CSR, & Investor connect opportunities.

Eligibility

Nationality & Location: Must be an Indian citizen and the entity must be registered from a Tier 2 or Tier 3 city.
Applicant Type: Must be a full-time UG/PG student with entrepreneurial pursuits OR a founder/co-founder of a DPIIT-registered startup (≤ 2 years old).
Commitment: The applicant must be committed to working full-time on the proposed startup idea during the 12-month program.
Stage: Must be at the Ideation, Concept Development, PoC, or Prototyping/Working Prototype stage.
Sector Focus: Must be working in the domain of Electronic Design & Manufacturing, Deeptech Software/Products, or the ICT space (including AI/ML, IoT, VLSI/Semiconductor, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, AR/VR/Spatial and Immersive tech).
Must not have received significant external funding (exceeding ₹10 Lakh, including government grants) or been previously supported under any MeitY schemes.

Application Process

Step 1 & 2: Application Submission: Apply online through the link given below.
Step 3 & 4: Evaluation: Shortlisting of applications, followed by an internal evaluation of the selected startups.
Step 5: Announcement: Final announcement of the grantees.
Documentation: Successful applicants must submit required documents (Certificate of Incorporation, KYC, Audited Financial Statements, etc.) and sign the necessary agreements.
Incubation: The selected applicants must be physically incubated at SIIC, IIT Kanpur, for the 12-month duration.
