About Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), IIIT Hyderabad
The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at IIIT Hyderabad is one of India's largest academic incubators. Established in 2008 and managed by the IIIT-H Foundation, CIE operates a 40,000 sq ft facility capable of hosting 120+ startups on the IIIT-H campus.
CIE runs three specialized incubators: the Deeptech Incubator (launched 2008) for research-backed startups, OJAS MedTech Incubator (launched 2018) supported by DBT-BIRAC for healthtech ventures, and the AIC Social Tech Incubator (launched 2019) supported by NITI Aayog's AIM for social impact startups. Programs include the AVISHKAR Deep Tech Accelerator and an Entrepreneur-in-Residence program.
Over 14 years, CIE has housed more than 300 startups that have collectively raised approximately INR 200 crore in funding and created over 2,000 jobs. CIE has been awarded Best Academic Incubator in Hyderabad by TiE Hyderabad.
