Check that you fit the programme

The accelerator is specific about who it takes, and the most common way to be screened out is applying before you fit:

• It is for early-stage, revenue-positive climate-tech startups, so you should already be generating revenue.
• It is for founders based in India or the wider Asia-Pacific region.
• Your work should sit in one of its focus areas: renewable energy, mobility, air quality, sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, water security or plastic recycling.

How applications work

Apply online through the programme's own application form. Have your founder and startup details ready, along with your sector, location and stage, a pitch deck and a short product video. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once a cohort opens, and late submissions may be considered without a guaranteed response time, so apply early rather than close to a deadline.

How selection works

The accelerator runs annually and selects a small cohort from a large applicant pool. In past editions it has evaluated hundreds of applications and shortlisted a handful of startups to present at a demo day in front of investors, so expect a competitive, multi-stage review.

What to show

• Revenue and traction, since the programme is aimed at revenue-positive startups.
• A clear climate impact, tied to one of the programme's focus sectors.
• Readiness to engage investors, which is what the twelve weeks are built around.

LowCarbon.Earth is a climate-tech accelerator run by the Massive Earth Foundation, a Section 8 non-profit based in Gurugram, Haryana. It was launched in 2021 in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and it works with early-stage founders across India and the Asia-Pacific region who are building sustainable goods and services.

How the accelerator works

The programme runs as a virtual, equity-free accelerator over twelve weeks. It is built to help early-stage climate-tech startups strengthen their investment readiness and scale their impact through expert-led mentorship, exposure, and access to investors and corporates. It also returns as a recurring annual cohort, so founders who miss one intake can look out for the next. Past editions have run bootcamps, workshops, mentorship, networking sessions and investor pitch opportunities, and have closed with a demo day where shortlisted startups pitch to investors.

Who can apply

The accelerator is open to early-stage, revenue-positive startups based in India and the wider Asia-Pacific region that are solving for climate. It covers sectors such as renewable energy, mobility, air quality, sustainable agriculture, the circular economy, water security and plastic recycling. The stated entry criterion is being a revenue-positive startup based out of Asia-Pacific working on climate.

Scale

Since it began, the accelerator reports that it has evaluated over 3,000 startups and supported more than 180 through its bootcamps, workshops, mentorship and investor sessions, and it says it evaluates over 500 startups a year from the Asia-Pacific region. These are the organisation's own published figures, and its pages do not always agree with one another: a separate page describes a cohort of more than 1,000 startups, so the supported count is best read as an order of magnitude rather than a settled number.

Who runs it

The accelerator is an initiative of the Massive Earth Foundation, a Section 8 non-profit organisation, which it runs in collaboration with UNEP. The Foundation operates from an office on Golf Course Road in Sector 43, Gurugram, Haryana, while the accelerator itself runs as a virtual programme and has held demo days in the region, including in Bangkok.
