About The BIG Idea Challenge

Listed here because founders still search for it and because it shows the kind of outreach TREC-STEP runs: this contest is closed and has not been repeated on the site. TREC-STEP organised it with Young Indians, part of the Confederation of Indian Industry, with support from the Department of Science and Technology, after running an Ideathon and a Venture Challenge among NIT Tiruchirappalli students. It was planned to reach around twenty science, engineering and management institutions.

Shortlisted finalists pitched their business ideas to investors, the incubation community and entrepreneurs, and winners were to be felicitated at the YUTRY 2018 entrepreneurship conference with prizes and certificates. Entrants were offered mentoring, seed support and incubation services. There were two categories: students, and non-students as Category II, whose last stated submission date was 31 December 2017.
