BEACON India

Incubation

A Green Climate Fund (GCF) Programme on Climate Innovation Incubation, approved for a GCF support of USD 25 million, with a total project outlay of USD 94 million.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

TREC-STEP and TATA Capital will be partnering in this pioneering initiative, with SIDBI serving as the accredited entity to GCF. The programme has been widely appreciated as a first-of-its-kind initiative, focusing on developing an innovation and incubation ecosystem for nurturing high-impact climate ventures and is expected to serve as a model for replication, globally. The BEACON India Programme will be launched early next year.

DSIR Technopreneur Promotion Programme TePP

Grant scheme

A nationwide initiative providing financial support to develop the innovative ideas of the citizens of India; TREC-STEP was the first DSIR Technopreneur Promotion Programme Outreach Centre.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

TREC-STEP identifies innovators, conducts technology vetting by experts, and provides comprehensive mentoring and financial support to fructify new product/process ideas into actual prototypes and process models. Meritorious innovators are then facilitated to become successful entrepreneurs, upscaling to marketable levels, through TREC-STEP’s business incubation processes and eco-system. The programme is currently being renewed by DSIR.

DST Incubation Fund

Grant scheme

Seed Capital Funding Support of up to Rs. 50 lakhs for highly innovative ventures of young technocrats, supported by Technology Development Board and National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, Government of India.

What you get, who can apply and how to apply

The fund support can be treated as equity or loan depending upon venture requirements. It covers activities not eligible for funding from conventional funding agencies such as banks and venture capitalists. Areas such as technology development, product development, training, marketing visits, marketing promotion, consultancy, software including margin for loans can be considered. The venture should be promoted in TREC-STEP premises.

STPI Earth Station
