About this grant
The Liveability Challenge (TLC), presented by Temasek Foundation and organised by Eco-Business, is Asia’s largest sustainability solutions platform with a global reach. The 2027 tenth edition launched on 10 September 2026 with a record pool of more than S$5.5 million and a new Oceans theme alongside Decarbonisation and Cool Earth.
TLC connects innovators with catalytic funding and pathways to market for high-potential climate and sustainability solutions. Since 2018 it has attracted thousands of applications globally, shortlisted and incubated 61+ start-ups, and deployed nearly S$18 million in catalytic funding. Selected finalists pitch at the Grand Finale during Ecosperity Week 2027 in Singapore.

- Decarbonisation — deep-tech solutions that cut or remove carbon emissions (waste-to-resource & carbon management, renewable energy & storage, sustainable fuels, industrial efficiency, built-environment decarbonisation, grid resilience). Technology-based pilots in Singapore; nature-based solutions within Southeast Asia.

- Catalytic grants: Official theme pages state the top three solutions win S$1 million each in grant funding. Selection Process
Applications are screened for originality, impact, feasibility and commercial potential. Shortlisted teams advance through evaluation toward a Grand Finale pitch during Ecosperity Week 2027 in Singapore, where finalists present live. Awards are subject to partner due diligence where equity or development funding applies.

Do I need to relocate to Singapore?
Teams may be based anywhere in the world. Solutions must be applicable to Southeast Asia and capable of being piloted in Singapore (technology-based) or within Southeast Asia (nature-based).
