Amazon India supports the Indian startup ecosystem primarily through the Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund (ASVF) and the Propel Startup Accelerator. ASVF is a $350 million fund investing in technology-led startups enabling the digitization of India's small and medium businesses, with sectors spanning agriculture, healthcare, D2C, fintech, gaming, manufacturing, and AI.
The Propel Startup Accelerator helps Indian D2C startups launch in international markets through Amazon's global selling infrastructure. Amazon has earmarked $120 million specifically for manufacturing and AI startups, with an MoU with DPIIT to establish India as a global manufacturing hub. Portfolio companies include FreshToHome, Cashify, Acko Insurance, smallcase, and Eggoz among others.
D2C brands seeking global market access through Amazon's platform and logistics infrastructure, manufacturing and AI startups at seed to Series A stage, and technology startups building solutions for SMB digitization. Founders benefit from Amazon's global distribution network, technology infrastructure, and the credibility that comes with Amazon's brand association.
