नीति कहती है कि संस्थान जिस स्टार्ट-अप का समर्थन करता है उसमें 2% से 9.5% तक की इक्विटी हिस्सेदारी ले सकता है, जो ब्रांड के उपयोग, संकाय के योगदान, दी गई सहायता और संस्थान के IP के उपयोग पर निर्भर करती है। मेंटरिंग और संबंधित सेवाएँ नाममात्र शुल्क पर या बिना शुल्क के दी जाती हैं। संकाय स्टार्ट-अप में शेयर रख सकते हैं, लेकिन सलाहकार की भूमिका में वे अपने कार्यालय समय के 20% से अधिक इसमें नहीं लगा सकते।
