This is the foundation's main offer and it runs all year rather than as a dated cohort. RISE describes a staged path: ideas are evaluated, improved and refined from inception through the Alpha and Beta stages of incubation, with external expertise brought in as each startup needs it, from a mentor group of practising scientists, technologists and industry experts.

How selection works: not published as a set process. The foundation counts startups evaluated separately from startups incubating, so there is a screening step, but it does not describe the stages. Expect a conversation with the team and with faculty in your area, and be ready to say which stage of the Alpha or Beta path you are at.

How to apply: use the contact form on the foundation's site and choose "Incubation Application" in the "I'm reaching out about" dropdown, or write to info@risefoundationiiser.co.in. There is no separate portal and no deadline. Ask about any fee, rent or equity, and about how instrument access works in practice — the site states neither.

GENESIS EIR is between intakes: applications for GENESIS EIR 3.0 were open until 3 September 2026 and that window has passed. RISE describes it as an initiative of MeitY Startup Hub, and its own events page calls the GENESIS EiR Cohort a structured ideation-to-prototype track. The 3.0 in the name means three editions have run, so another is likely, but no date for a next one is published.

RISE Foundation states on its own pages that it is supported by DST's NIDHI-TBI scheme and by IISER Kolkata, and DST's own list of incubators records it in the NIDHI-TBI category with IISER Kolkata as host institute. Neither says when the support started or when it runs out.

DST NIDHI-TBI supported technology business incubator

RISE Foundation states on its own pages that it is supported by the NIDHI-TBI scheme of the Department of Science and Technology and by IISER Kolkata. It also appears in DST's own list of incubators, in the NIDHI-TBI category, with IISER Kolkata named as the host institute and the RISE Foundation as the registered entity. Neither source gives a sanction date or a funding period, so whether the support is still running cannot be told from the published material.

About RISE Foundation IISER
