Recognitions & empanelments
Official approvals this incubator holds.
Host Institute, MSME Innovative Scheme (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises)
Listed at entry 441 of the Ministry's published List of Host Institutes for the incubation component of the MSME Innovative Scheme, as "Sri Venkateswara University" (CHITTOOR, ANDHRA PRADESH), checked 24 September 2026. This is the status that lets an innovator name the institute as their Host Institute when applying on the ministry's own portal. The list gives no approval date, no period and no status column, so whether the recognition is current cannot be told from it; and being listed is a capacity registration, not evidence that the institute has ever hosted an approved idea.

About Sri Venkateswara University
SVUAIC, the Centre of Innovation, Incubation, Entrepreneurship and Startups at Sri Venkateswara University, runs a technology business incubator on the university campus in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Its written policy, effective from June 2022, sets out how founders are admitted and supported.
How the incubator works
The incubator takes founders at two stages. Pre-incubation is for people with an idea who need to turn it into a proof of concept and check whether it is technically feasible. Incubation and acceleration is for companies that are building a market-ready prototype and preparing to sell it. Stays are generally between 3 and 24 months, set by the incubator's committee, and can be extended on application.
Who can apply
Students, faculty, research scholars, staff and alumni of S.V. University are eligible. Outside founders are also eligible: an individual, a private limited company or LLP, or a foreign subsidiary with an Indian party holding at least 51% of the direct stake can be admitted. Individuals developing technology they want to license rather than run as a business are also considered.
How admission works
Applicants submit their idea in the prescribed format. The SVUAIC team scrutinises the form and documents, then the applicant presents to the selection committee and answers questions. Selection looks at the problem, the solution, feasibility and the team at the pre-incubation stage, and at relevance, business plan, minimum viable product, market research, competitive advantage, scalability and team skills at the incubation stage.
What founders get
Admitted companies can use furnished co-working or office space, meeting and conference rooms, internet access, and shared equipment. Lab access in the university is possible only with special permission. Support includes mentoring chosen by the management team, legal, accounting and intellectual property help, fundraising guidance, marketing support, introductions to investors and industry, and help with government schemes. Reviews happen every three months, measuring progress against the milestones set in the application. Companies that have taken seed funding or a loan get extra checks on their finances, and further seed funding depends on progress shown at the previous review. Founders are also expected to tell the incubator about changes in name, product, directors, shareholders or staff, and to keep the incubator informed about intellectual property filings and technology transfers.
Student and staff founders
The policy has separate rules for student and faculty founders. Students may take a semester or year away to work on a start-up, and may earn academic credit for it, subject to a review committee. Faculty and staff may take leave for a start-up under the same committee process.
Terms
The incubator can charge for space, instrument use and services, through incubation fees and service charges. It offers two models for registered companies: one with equity and one without. Admitted companies sign an incubation agreement and a non-disclosure agreement. Exit can follow completion of the stay, under-performance, founder disputes, a merger or acquisition, a change in the founding team without the incubator's agreement, or a substantial outside investment. Either side gives one month of notice, and the incubator's chief executive officer has the final say on exits.
Who runs it
The centre is led by a chief executive officer and a director, with a coordinator from the university's RUSA programme overseeing reviews. The policy says the centre is being set up as a Section 8 company, and that it is supported by the Atal Innovation Mission.
Locations
The incubator is on the S.V. University campus in Tirupati. The university's geo-tagged centre listing places the Incubation Centre on the campus map, and the university's own site lists it among its centres.
Scale
The site does not publish a count of startups the incubator has supported, so none is stated here. Anyone comparing options should ask the incubator directly about current companies and intake.
