United Incubation Hub (UIH) is the start-up incubator of United College of Engineering & Research, Prayagraj, an engineering college in the UPSIDC industrial area at Naini, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The college was established in 1998 and is part of the United Group of Institutions. The hub supports ideas at an early stage as well as young companies that want workspace and mentoring.

The hub's work sits under the college's activities for the National Innovation and Start-up Policy, which also covers an Institution's Innovation Council. Its own pages present the hub as an invitation to start-ups to bring new ideas and turn them into prototypes.

How the hub works

The hub offers two stages of support. Pre-incubation covers help with company registration and certification, mentorship on the business idea, and the chance to present an idea at the hub and at its events. Incubation adds workspace, mentoring by domain experts, validation of the idea or product with mentors, and access to advanced labs for prototyping.

Incubation can be physical or virtual. A start-up can stay for up to one year, and the period can be extended by mutual discussion. Selected start-ups sign an incubation agreement before they move in.

Who can apply

The hub takes registered start-ups, students in their pre-final or final year of B.Tech, BBA, BCA, M.Tech or MBA, alumni of the college, and faculty members of the institute. An individual or a team can apply.

Facilities

The hub has start-up cubicles, a co-working space for about 24 people with computers and Wi-Fi, a meeting room, a conference room, an innovation lab and an assembly hall with a projector. Legal and financial advisory are offered on a paid basis.

Charges

Cubicles and co-working seats are charged per seat, with lower rates for students and alumni of the United Group than for outside start-ups. The hub also gives a laboratory consumables allowance with approval, which must be returned to the institute if the prototype leaves the campus.

Locations

The hub's brochure places it in B Block on the second floor of United Institute of Technology in the Naini industrial area. The college's campus address is the UPSIDC Industrial Area, Naini, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh 211010. Confirm the location before a visit, because the published addresses differ.
